For MAC NC30, you can definitely do both, but Light-Medium in the Smashbox Cali Contour Blush, Highlighter, & Bronzer Face Palette would likely suit you better overall, with more versatile shades for your skin tone. I purchased this because my favorite contour palette is by smashbox. However I was not happy with this palette. The contour shade seems more like a bronzer to my light skin tone. It is really warm toned. The highlight shades are both too dark for my skin tone. This seems more suited for medium skin...

Great palette for a beginner ✨
As somone new to makeup I found this palette to be forgiving (blendable and buildable) and straightforward with the instructions. I purchased this palette at 50% off which is definitely a great deal as the price originally scared me off as a newbie. My more experienced friends say it's a good deal if going for that sunkissed everyday Cali look but is more limiting for other looks.

This is the best thing i have ever discovered back in 2020. Love the warm tones, blendable, and lasts long. Love that its a good size so it fits in a good size bag!
I'm in love with this pallet
It has everything you need. The colors are great. You can do a whole face and eye with this palette. You can use the darker highlighter on the eyes.
Worth it!
I ran out of all my face base basics at once and so glad I tried this. I purchased light/medium and I'm a natural tan girly. The only downside was the pressed yellow brightener gave me flashback in photos! Recommend to test it out first.

Been using for over almost 2 years now and I will never NOT have this in my daily routine as long as it's available. I love that all shades help me go from summer glow to winter pale and back again each year. No negative reactions with my sensitive skin. Slightly helps fight my oily T-Zone and isn't too drying on the rest of my face. Doesnt cake. I've traveled with it so many times and it has never broken or crumbled! My biggest complaint is that you have to purchase the entire palette again when you have used up only one section! Would love to be able to buy just the highlight or just the contour, etc. to swap out when empty!
