Q&A

Q
Is this similar to the Orly Ridge Filler? My nails seem stronger when I use your ridge filler, but I no longer can find it.
Asked by Sue
Official Answer By Orly
Ridge Filler and Bonder are both basecoats. Unfortunately Ridge Filler has been discontinued and is no longer available. Bonder is one of our most popular products. Its unique rubberized formula grips lacquer to the nail surface for lasting adhesion and allows lacquer to be flexible which prevents chipping. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Will this work with every nail polish or just this brand?
Asked by SoMo
Official Answer By Orly
You can use Bonder with any regular lacquer from any brand. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Can this be used under LED light shellac nail polishes? Like with red carpet products? Thank you
Asked by LOULOU
Official Answer By Orly
We do not recommend using Bonder under LED or UV lights. It should only be used with regular nail lacquers. Was this answer helpful to you

Best Basecoat I've Ever Used

I came across Orly's Bonder when I wanted an alternative to gel manicures at the salon. I had gotten 4 gel manicures over a couple of months and my nails were in terrible shape as a result. As a total nail polish lover, I needed to find something to replace the gel manicure that would keep my polish...

Meh.

My nail color doesn't last any longer with this stuff than with a cheaper basecoat. In fact, once it starts chipping, it actually peels off.

Long Lasting Nail polish

If you wear regular nail polish, get this!! My nail polish usually lasts two days before it starts chipping. But with this bonder I get about 7 days of wear on my hands before it starts chipping. I tried using one coat as instructions stated but that didn't work for me. I tried it again with two coats of the bonder, followed by Essie or OPI nail polish, then OPI top coat. And it lasts me a whole week. Make sure to cap your free edge after every coat of bonder, nail polish, and top coat, to get optimal results. If you're washing dishes and cleaning a lot, it'll only last about a day or two. But if your hands aren't in water most of the time, you'll be good to go!

I have never had nail polish last this long!

I have never been able to wear nail polish on my fingernails without it peeling off within 24 hours (whether self applied or done by a manicurist). I decided to give this a try and I have by polish (Essie Ballet Slippers and Essie Gel Couture Top Coat) for 4 days and there is NO chipping or peeling.

A really good base coat that helps keep my nails from coloring from nail polish. It works REALLY well with the Orly Bondy. I use Essie, OPI and Chanel nail polishes and it gives the same protection effect and I now refuse to do my nails without this product. Love it!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I have tried to a long lasting base coat that works for the longest and out of all the ones I have tried this one is the best. My manicure last up to 10 days without getting chipped! Truly underrated.
