Can i use this product with my salicylic acid cleanser/serum?
- Asked by Jenni
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Avoid using leave-on acids/exfoliants like glycolic and lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, physical exfoliants, exfoliating pads, and other topical prescription medications when using retinol. Instead, just move them to your morning routine. For instance, you can use your cleanser and retinol in the same routine, but move your salicylic acid serum to your AM routine. Was this answer helpful to you

How long should you wait before switching to the Advance Retinol if the Beginner doesn't irritate your skin after a month or two of use? I have had only minor breakouts and some dryness in one area so far. Thanks!
- Asked by Retinol Beginner
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Everyone's skin is different, but we recommend starting out with Beginner Retinol 0.1% for at least 3 months. If your skin can tolerate it well and you experience no redness or irritation, then you can start transitioning to Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5%. We always recommend patch testing first, and slowly start to incorporate the Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5% 2-3x a week. Was this answer helpful to you

Hi! Only ingredient I see that I'm concerned about is soybean oil, which I've read can clog pores. Does the retinol counteract this?
- Asked by Jess
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! There is actually no FDA regulation for the term “comedogenic." In fact, there are no standardized tests that can accurately determine if an ingredient will or will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. Skin health is completely individual and dependent on genetics and lifestyle choices, including skincare! Everyone's skin is different but I do hope you'll give our retinol a try for yourself. We also always recommend patch testing our products on a small area of skin to see if our ingredients work for you!Was this answer helpful to you

First off, I would like show my appreciation for the awesome instructions on how to use this retinal gel. I used retinol back in college and took a few years off, this was the perfect product to get back into the game! It's gentle yet effective. This product definitely smooths out my skin without irritating it every time I use it.
Textured skin

I have textured skin due to years of acne. Along with very defined lines on my forehead. I have been using the begginer retinol gel for a few weeks and I have seen such a difference. I use it on and off but I highly recommend this gel. It has the perfect amount of tri-retinoid for sensitive skin.
Perfect for sensitive skin

I was extremely nervous to use this as I have sensitive skin and rosacea. However, I knew it was time to start on my mature skin. I did some research and discovered the "sandwich method". I put on a serum, then the retinol and moisturizer (letting absorb between properly). I only use this 3x per week after using for 6mths. I've noticed less redness, smoother and brighter skin. Highly recommend for beginners.
