Mielle Babassu & Mint Brazilian Curly Cocktail Cream

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I initially purchased this product for my daughter, who has Type 3 curls, thinking the richer consistency would help enhance her definition. The tropical fragrance is absolutely beautiful, and the formula itself is noticeably thick. The mint leans more toward a menthol scent, so if you're sensitive to that sharper cooling note, it's something to keep in mind. It took about three weeks of experimenting for me to really form an opinion. The first time I applied it, her hair was damp…almost dry…and I layered it with another leave-in product. That combination left her hair looking and feeling greasy, which was disappointing. I wasn't ready to give up on it just yet, though. When I tried it again on freshly washed, wet hair and used it on its own, I saw much better results. The curl definition was lovely, her hair felt smooth, and it was incredibly soft. It didn't have that heavy slickness from the first attempt. However, once fully dry, her hair still had a slightly greasy appearance and the product seemed to weigh her curls down more than I'd like. Because of that lingering heaviness, I don't see myself repurchasing it. I do think the thicker consistency may work beautifully for someone with Type 4 hair who needs more weight and moisture—but for us, it just wasn't the right match.

The texture is rich but melts into the hair nicely, so a little goes a long way. My curls felt soft, hydrated, and defined with minimal frizz. I really like products that enhance my natural curl pattern while keeping my hair bouncy and touchable & this performed well. The scent is light and tropical—not overpowering—and it layered well with the rest of my routine. Overall, it's a solid curl cream for moisture, definition, and healthy-looking curls.

It mixed into my hair well and didn't leave any white casting behind which is a major plus. My hair felt moisturized and the curls were noticeably defined.

This is definitely a must have. It's very light weight and applies smoothly to the hair. It gives the hair a shine which I absolutely love. It doesn't leave your scalp flaky it's very lightweight. The smell of this is so amazing I love mielles product so this is a must have for me.
