Most Helpful Positive Review Holy Grail Liquid Foundation I am a teacher and typically apply my makeup around 6 am on workdays. I moisturize with Tarte BaBa Bomb foundation on super dry days. On hot and humid days I start with only Tarte Base Tape moisturizing primer. I apply with a foundation brush and follow up with Tarte Shape Tape concealer under my eyes and loose powder. I also set my makeup with ELF setting spray. The coverage is medium to full, yet feels so comfortable on my skin. Truly doesn't feel like I am wearing a liquid foundation at all. Prior to this, I had worn IT Cosmetics Illuminating Celebration Foundation. It became too drying for my mid-forties peri menopausal skin. I normally tire of the time it typically takes to blend liquid foundation to an airbrushed finish. Achieving #skingoals of beautiful, glowing, and airbrushed coverage is simple with Foundcealer. I get compliments on my skin often (even before this foundation) and am often believed to be many years younger than my 47 year old reality. Foundcealer has truly improved my skin. I was skeptical about this Tarte claim when I purchased the product, but it is absolutely true. The shade range includes 30 shades and 27N Light-Medium Neutral was a spot-on match for me. The color stays true and does not oxidize. I do not have time to touch up my makeup all day at work and this makeup still looks flawless 12 hours later. I love the packaging. The one piece bottle with the twist up pump is genius and sanitary. It saves me from setting a goopy foundation cap on my vanity or from simply losing the cap completely as I normally do with pump foundations. The only two drawbacks are Foundcealer's propensity to transfer without being set with loose powder. Full baking is not necessary, a simple dusting will do the trick. The price is high but in line with the cost of the average prestige brand. I love that Tarte is a cruelty free brand. This is the foundation I have been searching for ever since my skin type changed from combo to dry. Will purchase over and over.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not Impressed After watching many YouTube reviews and demos of this product, I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately for me, this one was a miss. The color was perfect, I had the lightest shade available as 8B Porcelain Beige. I applied this makeup with a brush, as I always do with liquid foundations, and it just was not what I thought it was going to be at all. It looked thick when I pumped it out, but putting it on it looked very thin. The coverage was nothing like it was shown in every video or photo I saw for the foundation. It was very light coverage, in my opinion, medium at best. Full-coverage to me means it will cover anything and everything. This was not the case with this foundation. I started with a little bit, and tried to build it up in the areas that needed more coverage, but it wasn't changing a thing. The only thing this one really did for me was balance out my skin tone in the areas in which I had no acne, scars, or dark spots. Redness from my pimples was still showing through somewhat. If my skin was clearer, I think I'd be okay with this foundation, as it is very light-weight on the skin and would balance out my skin tone easily if I had no other major issues with my skin at the moment. It has a very light scent to it, but it wasn't overpowering. It also has SPF 20 in it, which would be great for any time of the year. However, when I applied it I also noticed that it looked very greasy on my skin; but I set everything with a powder so that I can cut back on shine (I have to blot no matter what I use anyway, but powder helps me a lot). It did have a nice finish once I applied my powder, but again, it wasn't even close to the coverage I get with my current foundation, so it wasn't really in my preference to keep it. All in all, it's not a terrible foundation, but it just wasn't for me.

I have combination skin and some pretty dry spots on my face, and this foundation definitely makes it noticeable. No matter what primer and setting spray I used the foundation would be gone by the end of the day. It made my skin look very cakey and it's not full coverage either. Pretty disappointed.

I like the coverage, it's medium full without using a ton of product. The color match is great for my skin. I have normal/oily and this doesn't make me too oily as long as I powder/set it. I love that it has SPF. I don't find that it breaks me out, but my skin isn't clearing from this product. I think the price is a little high, makes me hesitant to repurchase. It is overall a good foundation. It doesn't look cakey, it doesn't feel heavy and the coverage is good.

if you have normal/combo/oily skin- don't use this product. wayyyy too oily it'll literally make you breakout. I never leave reviews but I've never used a foundation that gave me acne until I used this.

Full disclosure, I did try this foundation when I was having a Good Skin Day (acne under control). Nice coverage that's not heavy. Pretty finish- not so "dewy" that I look oily, but it has a healthy glow to it.. Blends out lovely, and lasted me all day long on a hot, humid day. I felt very sweaty after about 5 hours of wear outside, thought I would need to touch up or powder-- nope! My face still looked great! Didn't settle into any lines either, which is a problem I've had with most other foundations.

This is not my absolute favorite foundation, but I really like it! It gives medium, natural-looking coverage (but some days I need more) and the thicker, somewhat oily consistency is great for my dry skin. Full coverage foundations, like Shape Tape, tend to dry out my skin if I wear them too many days in a row, so I like to switch it out with this one when that happens. It blends beautifully with the Shape Tape concealer. I dab it on with my finger and then blend with a sponge. Looks super natural every time! The SPF is a nice bonus too since the Shape Tape line does not have it. It does have a musky smell, but it dissipates very quickly.

This is the second time I've purchased this foundation and I love it! It's super light weight but provides so much coverage and feels great on the skin. I also LOVE that it has SPF in it. I live in Florida and it definitely helps. I'm not one to spend a lot of money on foundation but this is 100% worth it.

Great shade range. Medium coverage, does a great job of concealing redness and minor imperfections without looking mask-like. Does seem to be a bit drying for me but I have very dry skin. I sheer it out with a liquid highlighter to give it more of a dewy look. Not perfect for me but pretty good! Will continue to buy as the shade is perfect for my skin tone.

Uneven skin tone, redness and sunspots are covered in a natural looking way! Great coverage without look caked on. SPF adds an extra layer of protection.
I'm pale in the winter and tan in the summer so I bought a shade for both seasons. The variety of shades are fantastic so it was really easy to find matching tones.

This is my new favorite foundation ! First of all the color matched me PERFECTLY. That almost never happens for me. The coverage is perfect. It's full with out being very cakey and looking bad on the skin. I highly recommend this product !

I have sensitive skin so usually SPF products break me out but not with this foundation! It's definitely not full coverage but that's what I like. This foundation is very light weight with a natural finish I love it! Purchased more than 3 times

This is so drying! It cakes up over dry skin and looks splotchy and terrible. I am so disappointed because I love the tarte shape tape. This isn't good if you have any dryness or unevenness in your skin. So basically...it's not suitable for anyone since no one has perfect skin. Good luck if you buy it.

I'm already familiar with this specific bottle and went back to buy another. It has amazing coverage and it has a smooth look to it. It does feel a bit oily but that honestly wasn't an issue overall. I really love this foundcealer because it is the closest foundation to my color and hides my eczema very well.

I have used Tarte Face Tape for years now. I am starting to grow out of having adult acne and I no longer needed foundation that is full coverage. THIS is perfect. It gives coverage that is easily build-able when and where is needed. It doesn't dry out or settle into fine line. I love it

I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts, so I try to use as few products as possible. Whether I'm looking for a day-to-day look or heavier makeup for stage performances, I can use this foundation super easily and it covers everything super well. I would reccomend applying with a damp makeup sponge as opposed to a brush. Also, you don't need very much product for it to be effective! Whenever I wear this I get compliments on my skin as it does a great job covering acne without causing breakouts. I wear fair-light beige and this shade is a perfect match!

Bottle pump is nice. Color is good but doesn't seem to blend into the skin well. For the cost I wouldn't purchase again because I feel there are similar products for half the cost.
