I'm always looking for good sunscreen. I know that sun protection is key to keeping my skin looking youthful and protecting myself from skin cancer. As a mom, I also need sunscreen to protect my very fair-skinned daughter, who like many children, hates having sunscreen applied. Because of this, I w...as thrilled to review La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Kids Gentle Lotion Sunscreen with SPF 50 for face and body in exchange for my honest review. Anthelios Kids comes in a traditional plastic tube with a flip cap, containing 6.7 fluid ounces, or 200 mL. The product has a lightweight lotion feel that spreads easily across the skin and absorbs quickly for a lotion-based sunscreen. The product dries well, and I am not able to appreciate a residue or shininess, but rather, the skin feels hydrated. A little goes a long way and I was surprised how little product I had to use. For the last three weeks, I have applied moisturizer, La Roche-Posay Anthelios Kids Gentle Lotion Sunscreen, and then topped with a loose translucent powder to reduce shine on my sensitive yet combination skin. About half the days I continued to layer the rest of my makeup routine on top of the sunscreen without pilling or other undesirable texture. At the end of the day, my skin was no shinier than had I not applied sunscreen. The product was easy to remove with my routine double cleanse. My four-year-old daughter was up next. She was hesitant to try due to other sunscreens being overly thick, irritating to her eczema, and sometimes burning her eyes. She was surprised how easily I was able to massage the La Roche-Posay Anthelios into her skin. I felt confident sending her outside to play while wearing this sunscreen due to its high-quality ingredients, UVA/UVB protection, with broad spectrum SPF 50 coverage. Because of its smooth texture, I knew the product was applied evenly throughout the face and body (i.e. no patches of unprotected skin leading to sunburn). La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Kids Gentle Lotion Sunscreen can be used on both the face and body. No more buying a separate sunscreen for your face! Although marketed for children, this product can easily be used by all members of the family, regardless of age. Pros: Easy to apply and absorbs into the skin quickly without thick residue – no oily buildup. Great for all skin types, including sensitive, oily, and combination. Can be used on the face and body by all family members. Kid approved – no sunscreen fights! Great ingredients, excellent sun protection Cons: Pricier than many other drugstore sunscreens per ounce (This con is negated by the following: A little goes a long way, can be used on face and body, can be used by all ages).
