Most Helpful Positive Review the ONLY sunscreen my face tolerates I have young skin (21 y/o). My skin is well-pigmented in that I've only gotten sunburned twice in my life. But, my skin is majorly acne-prone. I could NOT find a sunscreen that would work it. For a while, I just stopped using sunscreen altogether, even though I felt guilty going without.
I have broken out using sunscreen from brands like CeraVe, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, EltaMD, Australian Gold, Coola, Banana Boat, Dermaogica, etc. I was discouraged because I wanted the benefits of sunscreen, but it seemed like my skin HATED sunscreen products. I reached for this at Ulta on a whim.
First of all, the product is mattifying. It does not have that characteristic greasy look (as I experienced with EltaMD). It did not leave a white cast. It makes me skin feel soft, not tacky. And NO BREAK-OUTS!
Second, the application can be tricky. I found that I could not go crazy rubbing it in or it would pill up & make a mess. My approach is to gently pat this into my skin & it works beautifully.
I will also note that when I first started using this, a red painless spot would appear on my chin as I wore the product throughout the day. I still have no clue what that was all about, but within a week of continuous use, the red spot stopped appearing.
If you've just about given up on facial sunscreens, give this a try! Hopefully you'll find this as pleasant & skin-saving as I have :)
Most Helpful Critical Review Pilling Galore I bought in store once I saw the sunscreen I intended to buy was sold out. I will not be buying again and am upset I even have to finish the first tube. When put it on just to get in rubbed in, it pills horribly. I have been using with just my moisturizer and i've never had this challenge with any other sunscreen to this extent. If you sweat any degree, forget about it, little white pills all over. For a chemical sunscreen I feel there is a fair amount of white cast (keep in mind Caucasian so that is saying something). It also has that chemically sunscreen smell which I am not a fan of on my face. Do your self a favor and pick any other face sunscreen.

I dont see anything dry touch...I actually have to use a powder to cut the greasiness. My main complaint is, it is not compatible with any foundation. It rolls, pills and causes a big flakey mess. I've use this on neck and chest as well, and it's so greasy, I have to apply baby powder. Going to return it or throw it out. Very hard to find a facial sunscreen that doesn't cause all this.

I wanted to love this but it made me break out. I got 3 pimples on my cheek after using twice and this was the only new thing in my routine. It also leaves a white cast and like others have said pilling.

This is not a good face sunscreen, it always leaves with white cast face looking.
Not a good quality, please offer a replacement or the opportunity to try other face sunscreen since you will lose many customers with this particular product
It's okay 3

I find that sometimes this product feels fine on my face and other times it's spotty and pills pretty badly. Not worth the money for the amount and quality of the product.

I recommend oily skin guys and gals give this a shot. It's very well priced and it works
This is my go 4

This is my go to sunscreen for the summer. I do not use it in the winter, as I prefer something that makes my skin feel more "dewy". I'm only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish it was a bit bigger. I feel as if I go through this faster since the bottle is small. Also it can "pile" depending on your moisturizer. I notice it doesn't pile when I apply an oil before it.
my new all-time favorite product 5

I have been trying so many sunscreens for a while & was beginning to think I would never find one that checked all my boxes but think I finally found ~the one~ I had been using one from Cocokind for a while, but it always felt greasy and I think it was actually making my acne worse. But this one from LRP goes on so well after moisturizing & I seriously love it so much. My skin is pretty fair, so I unfortunately cannot speak on how the product works with darker complexions, but it seems to rub in very well if you use it after a moisturizer, so I don't anticipate there being much white cast. I never leave reviews, but I had to for this one because I know how frustrating it is trying to find good products for your skin- If you're contemplating buying, definitely do it. Such a great product :)

Hello, I would like to know the PPD of anthielios clear skin sunscreen spf 60
Not the oneā¦. 2

As someone who's been hunting for a high quality, high SPF, oil free, mattifying, non-irritating to eyes sunscreen, I had high hopes for this guy. But they were quickly dashed. I gave two stars for the decently long lived mattifying effect. But, if you don't let products you apply earlier dry completely before applying this, the formula pills, both immediately and throughout the day. If that was all that was wrong, I could handle that. But, despite this being touted as a sunscreen that doesn't irritate eyes, it does burn mine and make them water. All. Day. Long. I'm going to have to use up the rest of this bottle on my body, I suppose, and count this purchase as a huge miss.

Amazing, very lightweight, does not leave my face looking white, and doesn't make me break out. Perfect since I work outside
Holy Grail for Oily Skin 5
Sunscreenskin from nyc
As all the other comments list, yes, this does leave a white sheen if not rubbed in. However, I have spent hundreds on trying out different sunscreens for my oily skin and this is the only sunscreen that doesn't leave me oily.
Not worth it 2
Bree from Palmdale
At first it went on fine and didn't leave a white shade over my face, but I started to get flakes in some areas. I tried it a second time and the same thing happened but worse.
good sunscreen 5

i got this sunscreen back in early july of this year (2021), and i've recently run out of it. this sunscreen lasts a long time and it's great. i've read through many reviews, and there are people saying that it leaves you a white cast. i would agree that it does leave a white cast, if you don't use it right. what i did to get rid of the white cast, was that i put it on right after i put my moisturizer on. this sunscreen doesn't blend the best on dry skin, that's why if you do it right after you moisturize, it'll help. also, this sunscreen doesn't have a bad smell. compared to the prices of the other la roche posay sunscreens, i would say that the price of this sunscreen is fairly good.
I love this product so far! 5

Love this product. It's non greasy and doesn't make me look oily or break me out. It's worth the price and I will continue to buy.
Not worth it! 1
Sunscreen from Greenwood SC
I've always heard la roche-posay sunscreens were good & I wanted to love this product but don't spend your money on this! It leaves a white cast & after about 30 minutes of wearing it, the sunscreen started to flake off! I feel like it made my skin even worse & I've only used it twice.

I had such high hopes for this product! It was priced amazingly, 60 spf, and was dry touch! Who wouldn't want that? Unfortunately it fell very short of the mark. Not only is it a hard product to rub in, but it makes you look as though you just rose from the dead. I was literally "The Walking Dead" when I put this on. My face was grey and ashy looking. I usually use Supergoop Unseen but wanted to try something else, I will remember on the future to stick with what I know and NEVER stray.
I wanted to love it 1

This sunscreen in theory should be perfect for me. Matte finish, spf 60, reasonable price. However it is easily one of the worst sunscreens I've ever tried. The white cast on this is incredibly surprising given it's a chemical sunscreen, and I'm fairly pale, so very few sunscreens leave a cast. The worst part of this spf however is the absolute horror it becomes when it dries down. It pills, clumps, and peels off your face, it didn't even last an hour on my skin before I looked like my skin was peeling off. It's even worse under makeup. I applied this spf, and went into my makeup routine about an hour later, and none of my normal go to products worked with this, my makeup looked so bad I had to wipe it off and start fresh. I'm so disappointed because I wanted to love this! The one positive I will give is it does have an incredible matte finish, I didn't need to immediately set it down with powder after I applied, but the negatives still far outweigh the positive
Made me breakout 3
P from Dallas, TX
It's okay for oily skin but I got tiny bumps on my forehead after using this after two weeks. It's weird bc I never had tiny bumps on my forehead before. I do have acne prone skin but only around my cheeks. And I did not break out there but forehead instead which is where it's hard for this SPF to absorb into skin.
Leave white cast and residue 2

I have been using this product for a bout a month and I tried to like it but it leaves a white cast and it starts crumbling. When I wear my mask and take it off all I see is white flakes all over . I would not purchase again
Works good 3
Steph from Ca
Everything is fine until it dries up and it rubs off and there's little specs of sunscreen all over face. It ruins my makeup.

I used it for two days and now my face is swollen and red with a lot of texture. Same thing happened to my friend. Wouldn't risk it if I were you.
Nice, clean. 5

Very nice, spreads nicely in my skin. I apply under my make up and this sunscreen does not seem to interfere with my face routine.
White Clumps all over face, hair, clothes 2
Gisselle from West Virginia
Bought the anthelios clear skin spf 60 and it clumps every time I apply it, I thought it was my moisturizer and changed it but the sunscreen would do the same thing over and over, leaving my face, hair and clothes full of white residue. The worst sunscreen I've ever bought and this comes from someone that trusts the brand a lot, I use a lot of their products.
not for me 2
sun from new brunswick
it said it would control oil and shine but after a while of applying it, it would still shine and i think it got more oily than before applying. not for me.
