Q
My moisturizer has peptides in it, why is that a contraindication. Will it be a problem if I follow with the moisturizer after using this and also is tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate considered a pure vitamin c to y'all?
Asked by Skinking
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Hi! We would not recommend combining direct acids with peptides due to the susceptibility of peptides to hydrolysis which may ultimately affect their integrity and efficacy. Our recommendations are meant to serve as a preventative measure to avoid any incompatibility between those combinations. When we refer to pure Vitamin C, we are referring to L-Ascorbic Acid or Ethylated Ascorbic Acid. Was this answer helpful to you

Immediate results!

Over the past few years, I've been trying to get rid of the little "blackheads" on my nose. I've tried everything from cleansers, scrub masks, peel masks, blackhead strips, etc. Then I learned they weren't even blackheads, but sebaceous filaments! I found this brand on tiktok (go figure), and I was ...

Great for sensitive-combination skin

Hey thanks to everyone for their reviews, I just used my peeling solution for the first time also. Right after washing off the peel my face felt so soft and smooth I applied the hyaluronic acid to add hydration back to my skin follow up with NMF. My face literally feels like a baby I'm thankful to D...

How does this not have 5 stars?

I have been using this product for a long time and I can tell you it is worth it. The price point and the results are unmatched. Yes, it burns when you first put it on but if you can get through that, you'll love the results. I typically use this once or twice a week and make sure to follow with a moisturizer so it doesn't dry my skin out too much!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This peeling solution is incredible. My skin feels so soft after I use it. My makeup goes on smoother, and the texture of my skin has improved...it's nothing short of awesome. I can't speak to dark spots because I don't have any, but I have lots of textural bumps from congested pores on my face, and these have improved considerably. I'm 46 years old and can say that this product is great for dry, mature skin! I totally agree with the reviews that say not to use this on open skin, though. It really stings if you do. I use The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil after I use this, followed by La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Soothing Repair Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, which seems to be moisturizing enough.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This is very strong stuff!

I use this once a week instead of the recommend two because it's super strong. It stings a tiny bit when you first apply it but after waiting ten minutes you rinse your face thoroughly and apply your other lotions and creams. It can dry your face out if you don't tend to it right away with something to rehydrate and you'll peel a little bit in the coming days after use but it works! Maybe too well, but still works!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

A great chemical exfoliant

First off, be careful the state of your skin when you use this. If you have a compromised skin barrier, use something gentler until you get your skin calmed down. This really works. It WILL tingle and I am a seasoned user of peels. Do not leave on for longer than the 10 min. After use, please use a real rich serum and cream that has skin loving ingredients. It is important to not overuse this as well. Start off a couple times a week if not just once. As your skin builds tolerance, you can build use. just remember to moisturize, moisturize if you tend to be dry. Even oily, be sure to use a good cream bc your skin makes more oil when you "strip" it. It sounds kind of backwards but, true. I love this peel for it's economical, effectiveness! I am 55 and I try to keep my face looking young with lots of different products. I hope it works for you too! :)
