Summary
Hot Tools 24K Gold Collection (¾, 1, 1 ¼”) Marcel Curling is the tool of choice for professional stylists. Holds heat evenly for long-lasting, iconic curls.
Benefits
- 1-inch barrel for classic curls or relaxed waves, making this your everyday go-to.
- Long-Lasting, Iconic Curls: Heats up fast and maintains even heat for quicker styling and curls that stay locked in place.
- Versatile Styling: Whether you choose to use as a traditional curling iron or wrap hair around the barrel to use as a wand.
- Great For All Hair Types: A high heat reach of up to 430℉ provides beautiful results for all hair types from thin to coarse and in between.
Features
- Marcel Iron Design: Marcel Irons are designed without a spring and are intended for professional use. This tool requires practice and training to master, which is why it’s a favorite among stylists. If you’re new to styling, we recommend starting with a traditional curling iron for easier use.
- 24K Gold Technology: Helps deliver superior, even heat for minimized damage* and lasting curls as good as gold.
- Locking, Rotating Handles: This lets you spin each section with ease while helping reduce strain on your hands and wrists.
- Foldaway Safety Stand: Conveniently tucks away for safe, compact storage.
- 8ft Professional Swivel Cord: Gives you freedom to move while you style.
- *Due to damage caused by overheating

To lock the handle, swivel the handle until triangle aligns with "LOCK." Slide the button into the "lock" position. Test the handle to ensure it is firmly locked in place.
To unlock, simply slide the button to the "unlock" position. The handle should rotate freely.
To lock the Marcel Wand rotate the wand until the notch inside the wand's tip aligns with the tab (P) on the rear of the wand lock. Push the wand lock into place so it is flush against the lip of the Marcel Wand. Test the wand to ensure it is firmly in place.
To unlock the Marcel Wand,
pull the wand lock toward the iron's front so the locking tab is completely
pulled out of the Marcel Wand. The Marcel Wand should rotate freely.

My hair is VERY short. A 3/4" barrel barely fits & a 1/2" barrel leaves it way too curly. Is the 5/8" the only answer? And does any other curling iron come in that size?

Hard to use
I consider myself a 10 for hand coordination, however, this product makes me feel like I have no coordination at all. I burnt my temple area and hand trying to use. Will return for refund.

Best Curling Iron Ever

This is my third Hot Tools iron and I love it. I need an iron that gets hot enough for my thick hair, and this one does!
Professional training encouraged
As a current cosmetology student I've come to learn that this iron is difficult for first time use. After being properly trained in how to use this type of iron is has quickly become one of my favorite tools to use on people.
Hot Tools Curling Iron 1/2"

I love hot tools. It looks like great quality and heats up better than another other brand I've used, but this one has a poor design. The duck bill on it will not grab your hair to get the hair around the wand. It brought it back to the store thinking it was broken because of how loose it was. Along with one of your sales associates we looked at another identical model and found the same thing. So we surmised that this must just be how it's designed. I notice none of the other hot tools are designed like this. So I'll try to find another 1/2" hot tools some place else. Too bad. I've been using hot tools for decades.
Love marcel curling irons!

My mom got me the 3/4 in because I LOVED her Marcel curling iron. She still uses it and bought it when she was in hair school over twenty years ago. They're so much faster and easier to style hair than a clip IF you know how to use them.
