Most Helpful Positive Review Smells great - Does the job This product is perfect for someone who works outside and needs to continue to reapply. It leaves a slight white cast, but it protects and smells great. Not at all greasy. Will probably repurchase.
Most Helpful Critical Review Is it possible to be MORE sunburnt?! I knew I had to work outside all day today so I brought this sunscreen with me and reapplied every hour. It not only did nothing to protect me from the sun but it might have given it reflective qualities that caused sunburn in places not even in direct sunlight. I wasn't conservative with my sprays. I do not understand how I could be this burnt with so much sunscreen. I am an unhappy cooked lobster.

As someone with sensitive skin this is a great product. Works well and doesn't leave too bad of a tint considering it's zinc based.
Does nothing 2

I really wanted to like this product especially because it's cruelty free and reef safe, However I felt like it did absolutely nothing to protect my skin from the sun. I am naturally tan and would just continue getting it more tan while using this sunscreen. Even while sitting under a beach umbrella and reapplying I continue to Tan, so I can't recommend this.
It smells great though but it leaves a white cast

We've actually been using this sunscreen since last summer as my go to for my 4 year old son whohas severe allergic reactions to most of the more affordable/chemical sunscreens. This is up there with Badger and Blue Lizard as favorites. I'm not sure why reviewers are getting burnt but I never apply this as a "spray" rather I dispense it in concentrated amounts and rub in thoroughly like sunscreen from a bottle. My son has never burnt and we live in southern CA playing tennis, swimming, beach, and lake vacations. If you are looking for a true spray sunscreen - there are better options.

Aside from the product not working it left me with rashes on my arms. Possibly an allergic reaction, even though I'm not allergic to anything. I've never used Sun Bum, but I probably won't ever again.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, ever, for any reason 1

I absolutely would not buy this again. I gave this a try because I ran out of the physical version of this sunscreen in the brown bottle.Living in the desert, you've got keep some spf handy. That was a huge mistake. This sprays super uneven and it's soooooo thick that it's difficult to spread and cover your whole body with. One it dries down, it leaves a horrible white cast so avoid this like the plague if you have brown skin or are tan.
DOESN'T WORK 1
Brit fast from Newport Beach, CA
I never knew that you could comment that a sub screen doesn't work. I think their normal line works fine but do not use this mineral line. Comes out thick white and does nothing. I'm natural tan and don't burn, but the uv index was 11 today (very very high) and 30 would normally protect me....this did nothing and I kept reapplying.
Fantastic! 5

Smells really good, like that it is a mineral-based sunscreen, and it's easy to apply/rub-in! Spent 6 hours in the creek and got a very mild shoulder sunburn (I am very pale and usually burn all over with most sunscreens aside from goopy mineral ones) so I am very pleased!

This stuff works!! 5

People commenting that it sprays out white obviously don't kno that zinc mineral cream is white!! Duhhh! The can is literally white! And it leaves a white cast cuz it's providing a barrier on your skin which is the purpose of zinc. I feel like this is common knowledge. Anyways I stocked up on this and we love it for our lake and beach trips!
Will not buy again 1

Sprays out white , after rubbing in leaves a very noticable white cast.
Never buying again 1

Wow guys do yourself a favor and buy a different sunscreen. This stuff doesn't work at all! I applied a ton of this stuff throughout being outside in the sun for 2.5 hours and I burned! This stuff literally doesn't even work a little bit. Not only that but this leaves you looking white cast, and when it comes out of the sprayer it literally looks like your spraying white spray paint on yourself... yeah just find a different better working sunscreen.
Never Buy Again 2

It's only getting more than 1 star because it at least does its job. HOWEVER it sprays out, as another reviewer said, like white spray paint. It is very hard to get off clothing or your swimsuit without having to wash it.
Amazing for razor burn!! 4
Hay from California
I definitely prefer the regular sun bum sunscreen because this one leaves a white cast. But I thought I'd give this one a try because the aerosol can be irritating to my skin. It has a weird smell but this sunscreen gets rid of razor burn within 15 minutes. That's really the only reason I keep purchasing this one it's worth it.
PMLE lifesaver 5
Cpappy from WI
My husband has PMLE and could never be out in the sun unless he was completely covered. No sunscreen has ever helped until now, since it deflects the rays. Yes it is white but once rubbed in a bit it is fine. This is a game changer for him he can now enjoy the sun without being miserable for weeks.
Definitely stay away 1

Do not buy this product. It sprays out like white paint and stains everything! Not sheer whatsoever.
I am allergic to the coconut aroma. I returned 2

The coconut odor was so strong and nowhere on the label does it list coconut. I am allergic to the smell.
Love it 5

So glad Sum Bum started making their mineral product in a spray. I have been using the cream version as I have allergies with many sunscreens and this one works fantastic without irritation. This stays put in the water and offers great protection.
Stopped spraying 1
Whimsy from fl
The only good thing about this when it worked was that you can see where/how much you were spraying and rubbed in nicely. However, it smelled terrible after a few minutes and the beach air only made it worse by blowing the nasty smell in your face constantly. But the main reason for the one star? After 2 sprays on each arm, it stopped spraying. 2 sprays, that's it. What a waste!
I really like this sunscreen. 5

I switch from chemical to physical sunscreen and I really like this one! Physical (mineral) sunscreen WILL LEAVE a white cast because of the zinc oxide but it rubs very well. I suggest to get a face sunscreen separately because this one is meant to use in the body only. My skin is medium to tan and after rubbing it leaves a slightly blue cast but it goes away eventually.
So far, so good. 5

This is a good body sunscreen for outdoor activities like cycling and swimming. It dries to a matte, dry feeling finish. It does leave a white cast though. I will be buying this again, as long as the nozzle doesn't clog.
Delivered according to expectations 5
Sun babe from Las Vegas
This is a mineral sun block. Meaning it will be white - that's the zinc oxide. So if applied liberally it will leave a bit of a blue tinge because it's physically blocking out sun rays. SMELLS AMAZING! Rubs in well. Leaves skin matte looking if you're conservative with how much you apply. My only complaint is that the spray nozzle splatters a bit, but I expected that with a mineral sunscreen. You WILL have to rub it in - that's just the nature of mineral sunscreen. Overall I'm really happy with this spray version of a mineral sunscreen!
Vacation Savor 5
Rosie1 from Pittsburgh
I'm currently on vacation and I have been using this for 7 days in a row now on my upper body and although I see a slight reaction to the sun, it doesn't hurt not one bit. On the other hand, I used an all together different sunscreen on my legs and I have had to cover them from the pain of PMLE. I'm really thinking this saved my skin that was protected by it. I will say IT'S WHITE, it doesn't blend into the skin which is actually a good thing because that means it's not clogging your pores!!
Never buy this product!!! 1

The product left your face with a blue tint. It was hard to rub in. The lotion was extremely thick.
Sprayer Clogs 2

I was all set to declare this the best sunscreen ever. I am ultra fair. I swear I burn in the shade wearing sunscreen, long sleeves, and a hat. I am also allergic to most chemical sunscreen active ingredients, so I was very excited to see a mineral line from Sunbum. This sunscreen rubs in easily, dries down so well it feels like nothing is on my skin, and has a pleasant coconut scent (some reviewers don't like the scent, but it smells great to me in comparison to most sunscreens). Unfortunately, the nozzle clogged after only a few uses and nothing got it unclogged. Tried hot water, soap, toothpicks, needles, and rubbing alcohol to get it unclogged and nothing worked. Super disappointing that the packaging on an otherwise phenomenal product malfunctioned. Will be trying the lotion kind instead.
It's a good sunscreen but... 3
Kaili from Fort Myers
I was super excited to get this product, because I had already gotten the skin tint (which is really good: has a pore-smoothing feel without feeling heavy or pore clogging), but when I went to spray it, it was white! Not just any kind of white though, it literally looked like white spray paint, and when I rubbed it in it left a kind of white cast on the skin, so for people like me who have medium skin tones, this may not be your favorite. It's still a good sunscreen though, just beware of the white cast.
