Most Helpful Positive Review I'm here to save the day These pencils are amazing, but I have found that the best way to use them is to pot them and apply with a brush. I found that after a while the product gets low and because they can only be sharpened so much, you tend to lose a lot of product. About a min in the microwave liquidfies it. After it cools it is just as creamy as it was in the tube and you have an entire 5mg jar full of product to use!
Most Helpful Critical Review I like this pencil for... I like this pencil for the product. I have the color "Milk" and I love it as a highlight on my browbone and in the corners of my eyes. I am VERY fair and this pencil is so white I need to use a light hand.
It's also very creamy which can be good and bad - the good being that it glides onto your skin, the not so good being that it's so creamy I wouldn't recommend wearing these on the eyelid without a primer underneath if you have oily lids because it's so soft and creamy that it does crease.
Now the WORST thing: the packaging. I hate that there's plastic just under the actual product so that you can't sharpen the pencil! Some of these reviews are saying that there IS product in the shaft but why put it there unless you can get to it? NOT impressed with that at all.
So, product, good. Packaging, bad.

First, the product is not as pigmented as the pictures show. I have the white and it is VERY pale. It most definitely doesn't last all day. I did white eyeliner with this, and it faded in 20 minutes. Next, the tip is thick, and not ideal because it makes it hard to do anything precise. Color gets onto the crayon easily, and the crayon itself is easily wasted. This is not great, and really disappointed because I usually like NYX's products.
Not very much product 2
PPP from Charlotte, NC
I initially loved this eyeshadow - easy to apply and the colors are nice. But, I was sure that I would get more of this product than the small tip that is exposed. I probably apply eyeshadow once or twice a week at most (the pandemic) and this lasted me maybe 6 weeks - so not many uses. I keep reading the stock answer from Ulta that you can sharpen it - that is hogwash because the amount you get isn't enough to sharpen. I really thought more product would come out as you twisted the base, but not true. So although the price is nice, just beware that you aren't getting much for your money.
Awful 3

I received one of these as a free gift. It slides all over you eyelids and smears.
How to Sharpen & Use 5
Dove from MA
How to Sharpen:
Put in freezer for the night (could do for less time but I haven't) and sharpen with a jumbo sharpener. (not all are big enough but the e.l.f is)
Milk Shade: .... IS the best as an eyeshadow base! You will get the most amazing true to color shadows. I wish the ones in the pots were as good.
PSA PLEASE READ 5

I'm just writing here to say that the tip is not all you get! You can sharpen it with a jumbo sharpener and there is more product in there! so please stop mis-reviewing this, it's a great product. Also it does not twist up, contrary to popular belief.
My Go To As A Teen, Still Use Frequently 3
Carson from Cincinnati
I have a lot of colors in these shadow sticks. These were my go to product when I was a teenager because I have horrible hand function and it can be hard for me to hold makeup brushes for powder eyeshadow. I use Milk or Cottage Cheese as primer for more vibrant color of what I put over it. This is still a very good primer for eyeshadow, both cream and powder. I have noticed more in the past few years the problems with this product. I primarily use the pure gold and cashmere with the strawberry milk and lavender being my other two most used colors. The shadow sticks are easy to apply. It's simple to get an eye shape and even even out coverage on both eyes with minimal blending. I just notice more and more that right by my crease, there will be a weird few lines a few hours into wearing any color. I don't know if I'm too expressive with my eyebrows or something but it's a very thick line. Then it can be the weird lines and totally worn off right underneath it on my eyelid. I have started wearing it only when I know ill be out for a short while. Otherwise, I know I will look weird. I do love the true gold that Nyx has in a lot of their products which is why I started using them to begin with. I just no longer see this as my go to. I certainly don't hate this product but it does kind of suck that I can't wear it all day.
This product will not wind up for more eye pencil. 1

Jumbo Milk Pencil 5
FLBreakzGirl from Up yonder in PA
I started using this on my water line instead of the thinner one and I'm more happy using this instead. It also lasts longer than the thinner liners.
A necessary staple! 4
mils from usa
This is one of the best products in terms of usefulness because I can use it in most looks on my inner corner. it blends well and even could work as a slightly sticky base for more shimmery shades.
That said, it's a pretty small amount of product for the price. The tip of the pencil is all you get. Once it runs out you'll need to get a new one, which feels like a huge waste of space and money. I wish you could twist it out of a tube like lipstick or a retractable liner.
I wouldn't buy again for eye lids 3

I like it for the corner of the eye, but not for eyelids. It creases badly. Elf has one like this that doesn't crease.
Would not purchase again 1

Broke off second time I used it.
THESE ARE THE BEST!!! 5
Anne from California
These shadow sticks are so pretty and easy to apply. They don't fry down super fast so it's easy to blend out and once they do dry down they stay put. I will buy more colors for easy out the door looks and touch ups during the day.

Cobalt- Perfect for an easy, quick look 5
Regina23 from Memphis, TN
Very pigmented, long-staying power and didn't crease on me. I also used it along my lower lash line/waterline and there was no irritation. Great for a quick and easy look. Will look into purchasing additional colors.

I feel like you don't get a lot of product but I use it as an under eye eyeliner and I feel like it's worth the price. Lasts super good.
It's a no for me 1
Pirate from Charleston Sc
It looks gross and smears way too easily.
Not that good of a product 2
Mariaaa from New York, NY
The color and application is amazing, but it doesn't last. By the end of the day it smudges off.
It glides over well, but it does not set 2
Suquoia from Sacramento, CA
This was a mess..It's not pigmented (even when I waited a bit & went over it again), it creases well before it dries (if it even did dry) -- not even setting it with eyeshadow worked.
I think its too wet and I'm sad about it. I wish they would take this product and KVD's anti-precision liner and mix the two then I bet it would be perfect.
Good pigment, limited wear 3
Mads from MPLS
This product has good color payoff and applies smoothly, but is not very long-wearing. I think it is more due to the nature of cream-based eyeshadows versus product quality. I will also note that the shade I purchased had more glitter in it than I expected, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just not what I anticipated based on the pictures.
Nice pencil 4

An everyday must-have! 5
Ash from Napa, CA
I've been using the shade 'cottage cheese' as a highlight for the inner corner of my eye and lower lash line and I'm obsessed. Ive been using it for a couple months now and am nowhere near needing to sharpen it yet, but note you will need a large pencil sharpener.
Easy - natural look w sparkly nude 5

Love the results on me, quick and easy to apply. I like the lighter colors for eye brightening.
