I'm traveling and forgot to bring my foundation brushes! So, I went into Ulta and gave this a try!
I've tried this brands beauty sponges and loved them. But, the brush....I'm kind of iffy about.
But, given that it's all I've got right now, it's doing the trick.

I bought new Lancôme foundation and this was similar to the brush the girl used. I have several ' it ' brushes and none are this type. I didn't want to invest a fortune into a brush in case the foundation didn't work out. I actually like the way this works better than the 'it' brushes.

I love this brush! After suffering through another brush that left streaks that I always had to buff out with a blender, I was looking for something else. This one was budget friendly and so I figured I'd give it a go. It works wonderfully with Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel Cream foundation. Smooth, non-blotchy, non-streaky finish and doesn't suck up a ton of foundation. It's a keeper!

Comments about Real Techniques Expert Face Brush:

This was my first real techniques brush and after using their version of the beauty blender sponge, I really wasn't expecting much and had already planned to return it. It may not be the softest brush I own but I find it works really well for liquid foundation application. I do not get any streaking as some others have claimed and it doesn't soak up my product. I find one pump of my foundation on the brush covers half of my face, which is about usual in application. I have not had any shedding issues but have only washed it once. So far so good.

I use this to apply liquid foundation. It's dense, so it doesn't soak up the liquid like a fluffier brush does. Applies makeup evenly and soft on my face. I love it! Personally, I would want something rounder for powder. Hope this helps!

I'm looking to try Bare Minerals for myself and my daughter. While I'm looking for a fuller coverage I would like her to have a lighter coverage. Hi Lin,

That is super exciting for both of you guys! :) And how awesome you're doing that together. It can be pretty confusing to know which brush goes with what product, even if you're an expert on makeup!

One of the reasons I love our Expert Face Brush so much (and why it's our #1 selling brush) is because you can use it for both light and fuller coverage, so I think it would be perfect for you both.

If you want to really make her day, you could buy her a brush (or a few) from our beautiful new collection, Brush Crush, found here: https://www.ulta.com/ulta/a/_/Ntt-brush%20crush/Nty-1?Dy=1&ciSelector=searchResults. The Powder Brush and Complexion Brush in this collection would work great for her!

                          Thanks! And good luck!

Yes, our brand is cruelty free. We do not use any animal hair/natural hair for our brush bristles. They are a high quality synthetic called taklon and we believe they actually work even better than animal hair, so bonus! :)

                          Thanks.

                          Hi Jen,

I love the Expert Face Brush for liquid foundation. Overall, I've found the rounded (non-angled) brush head is better for all over application. You are definitely spot on for that one! :)

For the blush brush, I actually have two favorites, depending on the look. If you want overall rosy cheeks, color that looks like a natural hue, the Real Techniques Blush Brush is amazing (http://www.ulta.com/blush-brush?productId=xlsImpprod3220067). The tapered head gives you control, but not too contoured.

However, if you want very precise application, like color over a contour, the Sculpting Brush you mentioned (http://www.ulta.com/sculpting-brush?productId=xlsImpprod11861065) is awesome.

                          Hope that helps!

                          A:

                          HI Batwoman,

Great question! The Expert Face Brush is one of the most amazing brushes we make and can be used for just about anything! You could use it for tinted moisturizer, but I think that perhaps the bristles may be a bit too dense, and it might end up trapping the product in the bristles more than you would like. The Stippling Brush is a great alternative, based on how much more dispersed the bristles are.

You could also use our Foundation Brush - this is one that allows you to almost "paint" product onto your face, rather than buff in, and I think the cut and bristle type would work well with moisturizer. That item can be found here: http://www.ulta.com/foundation-brush?productId=xlsImpprod3220071

                          Thanks!

                          Hi NEwbie,

This is one of our most awesome and amazing brushes that we have in this line - it's actually our #1 selling Real Techniques brush!

The bristles themselves are dense and short, which gives you very targeted coverage (more medium to full).

If you're looking for light to medium coverage, the other brush I might recommend comes in our Flawless Base Set (it's the larger Buffing Brush). I actually use that brush every single day - I like it because its bristles are a bit longer and not as dense, which gives me the really natural look I like. You can find that kit here:

                          Thanks!

When using with liquid foundation will this give you a more light to medium coverage? Or a medium to full coverage? Like are the bristles really stiff or fluffy at the top?
