The paddle shape, for me, is too fat in the middle - wish this were oblong and narrower, so that when I flip my mid-back length hair to the front, it would prevent tangles better. My hair is evidently thicker than these bristles are designed for; it is difficult to get the bristles through to my scalp, which is, of course, what boar bristle brushes are supposed to do - keep hair healthy by distributing natural scalp oils the full length of the hair. I do like keeping this in my living room, so I can brush my hair while watching TV in the evenings to relax. If I brush the back half of my head from the underside, and the front half from the top, the brush manages to work for my whole scalp. While it doesn't completely penetrate my thick hair, it doesn't have bristles so stiff they scratch and damage the scalp; it's not perfect, but it still is one very nice brush.
I used to have a old boar bristle brush that i would brush my hair with all the time at my grandmas house when I was little so I was excited when I saw this product in the store. But before I even got to use it the bristles started falling out and that right there made me upset that I spent a good chunk of money to have it fall out before brushing my hair once.

I love it but I would of gotten a thinner bed of bristles because of how thick my hair is.

When I was dying my hair, I only used a brush while drying.
Now that I'm grey, I use this at night and morning to refresh my hair then I start the styling process.

This is a game changer for dry shampoo distribution. I bought this to help give some volume too. Definitely worth the purchase, and doesn't pull my hair out.

I have thick hair so it's not easy to get the brush through my hair l I have to use one hand on the inside of my hair to feel like I'm getting a good brushing. Maybe it's not made for thick hair but I'm choosing to keep it.

This brush is alright. I bought it to distribute the oils from my scalp to the rest of my hair (as boar hair brushes are said to do), but I find it doesn't make a difference and often leaves my hair with lots of static. But it's nice for massaging my scalp and it's not a bad brush, so I'll keep it.

they didn't have much selection of these kind of brushes.

My old brush died so I decided to invest in a new one since the old one I used is no longer being made. I heart boar bristle brushes were great for curly hair, especially if you have oil on the top of your head and dry ends, and my grandma used to have one that I used sometimes. I remember not like that one cause it always got caught in my hair. Decided I'd try it out as an adult this time and it definitely doesn't get as tangled in my hair as before, but it also doesn't really get rid of many of the knots in my hair. It also doesn't spread the oils like I wanted and makes my hair frizz out like no other--but then brushing my curly hair in general makes it turn into a lion's mane no matter what kind of brush I'm using, so--but it's not a bad brush. If my hair was wavy and maybe a bit less thick, then I think it would work great. But as it is, it's just another brush that doesn't do exactly what I want but that I use from time to time if my hair is being really unruly. So just okay.

I heard boar bristle brushes help distribute scalp oils down the hair shaft, so I decided to invest in this brush. I previously had not wanted to spend more than seven dollars on a brush, but I am so glad that I invested in this! I have very oily roots and very dry ends. Since using this brush for a couple weeks, I am needing to brush my hair less, using less dry shampoo, and my hair is not quite as dry as it was. I am losing less strands of hair after brushing and showering. That alone makes this brush worth it for me! I think I will get this brush for my mom who is concerned about hair loss.

It caused too much static in my hair.

I was really excited about this brush but it's not working for me at all. I have thin, wavy hair. This brush just makes my hair get staticky and frizz out. I'm still giving it a try but I've used it for about a week and so far I just don't like it at all.

Husband has almost a bald head with the horse effect. He wanted a soft brush so he could brush without discomfort. He said this brush is perfect.

I order this cause one of the reviews said it worked great for her fine hair. The bristles are to soft for my fine hair . The bridles never grabbed ahold of my hair.

Everyday use & we love it. My girls love the fact it takes away all the bumps in our pony tails & makes our hair smooth :)

It's perfect. The bristles feel amazing on my scalp. It smoothes nicely. An overall perfectly sized and perfectly executed boar bristle brush.

This styling brush works well to detangle my type of textured hair. It also delivers a great shine!

Sorry to say, I'll be returning this item. It looked like a nice brush with natural bristles and a decent design. But when I tried it out, it lost 3 bristles, and it keeps losing more every time i brush. For reference, I have very fine, average thickness hair - quite delicate and not in the habit of eating my brushes!

Gentle on my hair

I have a wood handled brush with boar bristles that I have used daily for over 45 years. I wanted to try a different one to see if I could find one that would be a little more gentle on my scalp since I have become the victim of several neurological issues that cause my scalp to be more sensitive. This is the perfect answer.

Definitely do not recommend
Lori from The insanely humid south.
I have thick hair that tends to act unruly during humid summer. This is the first brush Ive used that actually tames this mane. This is the perfect brush to smooth away fly-always coupled with a good spritz of hairspray.
Best part...no plastic and doesn't damage your hair.
