I really wanted to like it

    By Janis

    from Virginia

Comments about SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner:

I have thick, dry, wavy hair. I am trying to use products that are sulfate free so I gave this a try as a shampoo and conditioner duo. It did not give my hair hydration and it actually seemed to leave a residue. I love the smell, though.

      Good for thick curly hair

      By Rey C

      from Nunya

Comments about SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner:

Within a few days of using this I noticed a difference and improvement in my curl pattern. I have fine thick curly 3b hair. This conditioner is light weight and has made my hair noticeably softer. However it does have an unusual texture when mixed with water, likely because of the need oil, that makes my hair feel difficult to manage. Detangles fine though

Comments about SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner:

I've tried this product for the last month and, honestly, I've hated it. I had been using a cheaper one that I loved but heard about this brand and wanted to give it a try. The shampoo was sufficient but the conditioner did absolutely nothing to detangle or moisturize my hair. I actually think it made my hair more coarse and tangly. Also, once my hair dried I could definitely feel residue. I didn't give this lower than 3 stars because I think (at least I'm hoping) that this product just isn't intended for my kind of very curly hair.

Comments about SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner:

I decided based on the reviews to give this a try because for the price it was definitely worth checking out and comparing to higher-end products.

The first few times you use it you might actually think that it's a good product because the build-up doesn't start immediately and again you'll be happy you're a saving so much money that you'll want to look at it from a positive perspective.

The problems begin after the buildup starts which usually depending on how much you wash your hair could be a few weeks.

By that point it'll be gradual but you'll start to notice that your hair lacks shine and movement and you'll also start to notice clumping of hair and making it very difficult to comb out.

After a few more weeks of use, i start to panick...perhaps it's a different product that's causing this or my hair just needs a haircut. I realized this was the only new product I had introduced and so I did extensive research. It seems there are a lot of other people like myself that have discovered this ugly side effect.

Today I had to wash my hair 3 times to get all of the residue out and it finally feels like my own hair again.

I would not recommend this product to anyone and I would highly caution you on purchasing it because if you have curly hair then you'll know that curly hair tends to knot up and dry up very easily, this product exasperates that problem.

I love the Frizz Defence Raw Shea & Cupuacu collection from this line but Ulta doesn't carry it and it's difficult for me to find.

Would this be a good alternative or is their another collection from the line that would be better?
