Most Helpful Positive Review nice, thin liquid, easy to apply
I've been testing out sun protection products recently (mineral formulas only) and out of the few I've tried (Juice Beauty Oil Free SPF 30, Juice Beauty Stem CEllular CC w SPF, Stila BB SPF 30), I favor this one.
I don't like thick products that are hard to spread all over my face and this one isn't. It is thin and blends well and is easy to get your hole face covered to get adequate sun protection.
The tint is barely noticable once applied, but does give very minor color correction. Not as much as a tinted moisturizer would though. The color works for me and I'm fair.
I dont notice much of a smell with this product.
I was looking for a better rating on EWG Skin Deep's website, but for a mineral sunscreen that I like I suppose this will do.
There is one other product I did like when I tested in the store, but was too expensive to end up purchasing... Perricone MD Photo Plasma SPF 30. This felt so lightweight on my hand when I applied. If it weren't for the hefty price tag i would have liked to try it. There wasn't an EWG rating for it either, which concerned me.
Most Helpful Critical Review Wanted to love it, but not for me.
I really really wanted to like this product because I was looking for a new sunscreen to wear under my makeup. I read reviews saying that this does not leave a white cast, and also that it is mineral. It doesn't make it white, it does have a slight tint--kind of like the sheerest tinted moisturizer you could wear. That's fine, because I wear foundation over it. The smell is unpleasant, but I'm also sensitive to fragrances. It's very liquid-y, not thick at all and goes on well and sinks in. It's definitely NOT a matte finish on my combo skin. Weird smell aside, this just isn't working for me because I find it's really irritating to my sensitive skin--it stings whenever I apply it. I would recommend this to someone who doesn't have sensitive skin and doesn't mind products with strange smells.

I've been looking for a sunscreen tinted for a long time to have a good effect on my skin without leaving it oily.
It was disappointment because it is very oily.
I don't recommend it for anyone who has oily skin with acne. I follow the search for a colorful sunscreen that does not leave my skin more oily.
Love this light sunscreem
Marcela V from San Diego
Love how light it is and also very effective, wont clog my pores I've been using it long time ago!
Didn't love. Returning.

This made my primer ball up and so I'm returning it. It may be a good sunscreen on its own, though.
I might buy this product again

I wish it was less watery - thicker, like a moisturizer. Have to thoroughly shake it before using.
wanted to like this

I really liked this sunscreen but it did break me out and give me kind of a rash but i do have pretty sensitive skin so if u also have sensitive skin i would try a different sunscreen
Recommend by my dermatologist
Ponygirl from CA
I was given a sample of this from my dermatologist after a Mois surgery. She highly recommended it. Upon using it, I understood why. It goes on thin, so you don't need a lot to cover your face and neck. It dries quickly. I can't speak to how well it works with makeup because I don't use any, but I'm sure other reviewers have. It seems to keep my face and neck free of sunburn and I don't have any type of skin issues with it.
Really bad white cast
Fuzzy from Spokane, WA
I got this as a sample and was so excited to try this sunscreen due to all the great reviews. I was so disappointed, it leaves a horrible white cast and doesn't apply very well. Applying if is a nightmare and it kept pilling. The only positive to this product is that it kept my oily skin matte. I will not be using this in the future.

I love this product. I have been using it for 2 years. I wear it every day.

I have used the tinted version of this sunscreen for about 8 years. I use it alone and under makeup. The untinted version made me look weird in photos. This tinted does not do that. Love the matte finish. I am 70, and I get compliments all the time on my skin. Worth every penny. I don't wear a lot of makeup, and this is one of two products I wear everyday.

I'm obsessed! Love that it's lightweight with a tint and it dries matted. During the summer I've used this alone instead of light foundation.
Good choice for Sunscreen

Doctor recommended this. It was more costly than what I used in past, but worth it.
Not for really sensitive skin
ThriftyMe from Philadelphia, PA
I like LaRoche posay products and they are recommended by my dermatologist. However, this sunscreen made my skin burn and turn red, so if you are truly sensitive, be cautious. Otherwise, I'd recommend because it has a nice texture.
IF YOU ARE DARK IT'S A NO
not worth the price from Mountain Home , AR
It drys really werid and I thought the white cast would go away after it dried. WRONG ! It looks like I've been rolling around in flour and I'm not even that tan.

Tinted is the way to go!
Alexis C from Marina del Rey
I use this everyday as foundation. It's my go-to. I use the tinted version only and the sun protection is awesome.
Love the matte finish
anonymous from Nashville, TN
I love this product! The matte finish is great and I just wear it as a light cover up for the day. I also love that it is 50 SPF instead of the typical 20-30 that I see in BB creams. I prefer this to my BB cream any day.
Love Anthelios Mineral Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 50
anonymous from Seattle, WA
My eyes burn from chemical sun cremes. This is so much better, no burning. And very smooth and pleasant consistency. Excellent sun protection of course. I use it for my hands too, to prevent aging spots.
All that I hd been looking for in a sunscreen
MoniGuinn from Texas
I love my makeup but it doesn't have a SPF so i needed a light sunscreen to put under my makeup in a daily basis without making my face heavy and oily. This is the perfect product for oily or combination skin! It's so light, my skin absorbs the product in just a couple of minutes and doesn't obstruct my pores. I will definitely purchase again and again and will recommend to my friends. I think that's the whole purpose of this product, white for under makeup and tinted for those who want a no makeup day but still protect their skin. Just my opinion
Romke from Los Angeles, California
I'm a Dermatology PA and have tried hundreds of sunscreens over the course of my career. The Anthelios Mineral 50 Tinted fluid is the one I personally use and recommend to my patients. This is a lightweight fluid, so it's not thick or greasy, perfect for acne prone, oily skin. Many of my male patients who hate using sunscreens have found they actually like this as well. The tint comes from an ingredient iron oxide which is important because it protects the skin against natural and infrared light which has been found to worsen hyperpigmentation. The color is very universal. I'm fair skin and it absorbs without changing the color of my skin. In fact, it gives my skin a nice glow without being shiny. I recommend applying this after moisturizer since this not a moisturizing sunscreen. I have tried all of La Roche-Posay's sunscreens (both American and European formulas) because I trust their scientific research and I always come back to using the Anthelios 50 Tinted formula.
If I had to make one recommendation to the product development department, I would also like to try a similar product with a small amount of zinc oxide added. Zinc has a slightly better UVA protection than titanium dioxide.
Excellent sunscreen, Worth every penny
anonymous from Indiana
Excellent sunscreen, very comfortable after application, moderately dry vs. moisturizing. It's "efficient" in that a small amount covers well and provides lasting protection. It has a slight tendency to appear white but rubs in easily. If that's an issue, I would recommend the tinted version which I have also tried and like very well. Male in my 50's in case that's useful info.
Gentle enough for sensitive skin

Light texture but good coverage, gentle enough for sensitive skin
I would buy this product again.
Barb from OR
I don't like heavy, thick foundation. This product is lightweight and blends well on my skin. Can be layered for more coverage if desired.
Love this sunscreen
Cindy H from Sevierville, TN
This is a great mineral sunscreen. Wears nice and the tint does not leave any cast!
I Gave Bought This Again and Again
Micki3 from Sacramento CA
I love this stuff! I like getting it when it's on sale as it seems to be a little expensive. It's not oily and although it says matte on the bottle I find that it just blends into my face well. I like that it is a lotion so I have no pulling on my face while applying it. Any foundation covers the hint of white. I also recently have been putting it on later in the day and it seems to go right over my foundation. It has zinc and I was a little worried the zinc was not enough, but so far it seems to cover well from the sun!
Makes me look ghostly
Auss2347 from Chicago
I bought a couple products from here, and I'm extremely happy with all of them except this one. I like that it's matte, but it makes me look far too ghostly. I'm a darker, olive complexion, so maybe thats why? I would imagine if youre a light complexion this would work great. I just have warm undertones so anything "white" makes me look ghostly, ashy and washed out. If it weren't for that, I would actually love this product cause it's not like other sunscreens that leave you greasy
