I have mixed textured hair, ranging from 1c to 3a. I also have low porosity hair, and hashimotos, so I have random kinky textured coarse hairs as well. This oil smells a little mature, but a little goes a long way. I have noticed my hair is darker when I use it, but it has not made my hair "weighed down" with oil. My hair is softer and more manageable, and less frizzy. I have also noticed some of those coarse hairs becoming softer, although I know they won't entirely go away because they're hormonal. My scalp is extremely oily and I have to wash my hair every day to keep it at bay, but even skipping a day after using this oil, my hair is not separated or stringy. I'm not sure about the quality comparison, as this is the second oil I've ever used. I have it mixed currently with the &honey melty. Weirdly enough the &honey melty oil was too heavy for my hair, but after adding this oil, it is literally perfect. A pea sized amount leaves my hair soft for days!
