I have tried a number of primers that work well on my oily skin. This one isn't formulated specifically for oily skin, but hands down it's the best. Stays on all day. Works well on enlarged pores or any texture issues. Best of all it's maturity skin friendly. :-)
I have tried this product every which way but loose. I tried looking up videos on how to apply. Thought, maybe I was doing something wrong. Too much? Too little? Didn't wait long enough after application? Nothing works. Goes on beautiful drive to work, check the mirror? I look worse. I kept blaming my application process, my foundation, concealer. Finally, I did half my face with primer and half without. It's the primer. That being said, I am curious about the age if the 5 star reviewers. Maybe they are younger. I am 43 and have to say no go!!! Unless, you don't mind amplifying wrinkles.

I'm 50 and I have combo skin with some crepey skin around my eyes from recent weight loss. This is a really nice smoothing primer that doesn't look dry. I use it on cheeks, around eyes and forehead. It has a subtle "glow" so I apply lightly. It can look awful if I've applied too much. It smoothes my eyes and makes me look fresher. Works well with The ultra-light Cerave daily spf moisturizer underneath too.

So I got this primer as a sample and tried it for the first time tonight. I just went to the restroom and when I looked in the mirror was shocked at how amazing my makeup looked! It was the only thing I used different from my normal routine. Not crazy about the packing (I prefer a tube vs. a jar) but I can deal with that if I get these results! Goes on smooth, feels great on the skin…really good product and I highly recommend!

I have heard good things about this product online so I decided to give it a try and boy am I glad I did. It is seriously the most smoothing primer I have ever used!! It makes my skin look actually poreless. For reference I have dry, acne prone skin. I was worried this would look horrible on my dry skin but it surprisingly doesn't cling to any dryness. The couple foundations I have worn on top all look beautiful. I will forever repurchase this magic

I love to tap into areas where my pores are larger and sometimes over acne spots to help my skin appear smoother! I do have dry skin so I do not put it over my entire face, just where it is needed, but It doesn't dry me out!

I've tried every primer out there fir oily skin and most are just ok but I purchased this one to try with the new Amazonian clay foundation and I feel like they were a perfect match up. This works excellent for oily skin. Smoothed your completion for flawless foundation application. Would absolutely recommend this!

I used this religiously a few years ago. Felt like I should go back and now I remember why or why I shouldn't have. It made me have severe cystic acne all over my jaw line. I feel the product is different formula from what I used previously and adored, it doesn't sink in and melt into makeup, it sits in and on top of pores. Could be the vegetable oil? Disappointed in TARTE for this, help us LOVE our skin! Not give us all this filler especially paying a few shy of 50$ 😤

I never thought to buy primer for liquid foundation, but I'm so glad I got this. I think it does work best with tarte face tape foundation, but I also use it for Perricone foundation and that works well. I recommend!

I've used this product several times with just one purchase & I have decided to forgo using it lately. I have combo skin, but lately it has been super hydrated. When I put the primer on, it's like all of that hydration disappears & my skin is left extremely dry. It also stars balling up, practically taking all of it off my skin. When I later put on foundation, it starts to look caked on, when I barely put any on. I find myself using a wet cloth to remove the foundation & primer in some areas because it looks so dry & caked on. I end up spending more time correcting my makeup, which is a total pain. I've used other primers that definitely don't have these issues, so I'll be sticking with them.

I needed something to smooth out wrinkles. This product does blur out the wrinkles and make your skin look smoother. I really like it.

I use this first before foundation and it helps even out my facial coloring. Will defiantly make this a staple in my make routine.

I got this primer with a promotion deal a few weeks ago and was pretty exited ab it. I usually use the elf putty primer so I figured this would be very similar however it doesn't melt into the skin too well and is hard to use with Liquid products. I used it on both me and my friend (who has a different skin type as me) but the results were the same. Bc it's so thick the biggest problem we both had was that it locked onto the little peach fuzz we have around our face. I've never used a primer that did that and was surprised that this one did. Ik many woman shave their faces but I don't So if u are someone who also has peach fuzz (literally anywhere on ur face) I do not recommend.

This primer is so silky smooth and it helps my foundation sit beautifully on my face. And it stays there, even in the humid Florida summer. I took away 1 star because this primer literally smells like bug spray. The smell does disappear after a few minutes but man, it sure does smell like I just sprayed a bunch of bugs.

If you want your makeup to last through sweat - through an atomic bomb even - listen up. This primer is key. Smooth all over face - pressing it in . Let it set. Then apply Bobbi brown moisture face primer/ face base - Under eyes. Apply makeup oner all of it as usual then powder . After, spray urban decay OG all nighter all over face. Your make up will last forever

I bought this because of all the rave reviews and plus I absolutely LOVE Tarte.. I use SOOO many of their products including the Amazonian clay full coverage foundation which i love because its the only foundation I've found thats mask friendly. I WAS using the tarte poreless primer in the purple tube which I love btw but I decided to give this a shot since its so thick I thought it would be even better for me (my skin is extremely oily in the t zone and I'm combo but I virtually never break out). Well, im an esthetician so I pay attention to ingredients and I bought this without even checking (stupid me.. I know better). I used it once and developed a HUGE cystic acne spot on my chin.. I figured it was a fluke and probably hormonal since it was on my chin.. so I used it again and BAM I had another very large zit on the side of my nose.. then another one popped up on my check next to my nose.. then another on the other side of my face.. even though I stopped using it I had a full on breakout. I looked at the ingredients and noticed pretty high up on the list is hydrogenated vegetable oil.. really tarte? you couldn't use something less comedogenic? not all oils will break u out but this one is just cheap and I'm so mad cuz now I have to let my entire face heal and wait for the spots to fade and flatten just because I used this twice. Also it didn't keep the oil away either.. it actually made me look greasy really fast and my makeup looked horrible. the only reason I tried it twice was because I wanted to try prepping my skin differently to see if that would help but I assure u I will not be using this ever again. If you want acne.. try this!

I used it a couple times and it clumped up using it with my face serum I use daily.

I used to love this primer until they changed the formula. It had a thicker consistency but now it feels very siliconey. My makeup doesn't last. Please bring back the old formula!
Debra from Columbus Georgia
I love it, but extra to make sure I never run out.

In my experience, this is too thick to wear with liquid foundation. However, on days that I wear my powder foundation this is the only thing I use. It pairs perfectly with powder.

Nice and smooth feeling and makes make up look good and last.

Primer is one of those items that I go thru a lot of to find "the perfect" one. I ordered a travel size of this to try and used it today for the first time. WOW!!! It goes on so nicely, visiable changes in skin texture and blurring. My make up looks amazing today. I think I've found "the one"
Liz from Broomfield CO
Works! Smooths out those little lines around mouth and lips. Only thing I have found that works and does a good job!
rnnessy from Washington
I'm an RN and when we all started wearing masks I broke out horribly. I had to stop wearing foundation but I still wanted something to improve my skin texture, minimize my wrinkles and help with oily breakthrough. I had a travel size of this that I'd never really used. Gave it a try and WOW! I use this instead of foundation now and NO breakouts! I love this stuff!

I will literally cry if they ever do away with this. I cannot live without it. It blurs, hides wrinkles and makes my makeup look smooth. Have tried with different primers and moisturizers and is very compatible with several different ones. A must have for older gals!!

the only primer worth spending money on, genuinely fills pores and smooths the skin
