- Asked by kmog
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellOur products are all reviewed by a safety assessor as we use safe and effective ingredients; the surfactants are appropriate for the intended performance of a given product; turpentine oil has always been in the Tea Tree fragrance at very low levels as it is a naturally occurring fragrance component that provides a fresh balsamic warm pine note and the colorants also used at very low levels give the product its appealing soft green appearance. Was this answer helpful to you

I hated the smell in the bottle and in the shower,,,HOWEVER the smell changes once your hair dries and it does smell great duri...

Hair loss and scalp acne
It was validating (yet disturbing) to discover others experienced the same problem with this shampoo. I started with the Lavender Mint, because I loved it when my salon used it on me. My hair started falling out, but as I was changing thyroid meds at the time, I did not associate it with the shampoo...

Tangles hair
Bought the shampoo and conditioner set . Love the tingling sensation on my scalp and thats about it . Leaves my hair feeling dry, coarse, and tangled. My hair is long and wavy (not curly). Ive used a detangling brush brand for years to avoid breakage and that doesnt even work with this shampoo. I've gad so much breakage trying to detangle my hair day after day for using this shampoo. I've never had an issue with other shampoos around the same price point. You'd thing the conditioner will over compensate for this, but it is not nourishing or a dentagler so it does nothing . Bought big bottles for both and will never buy again unfortunately . So dissappointed
Hair Breakage
Bought the shampoo and conditioner . Although I love the shampoo's tingling feeling . It leaves my long wavy (not curly) hair feeling dry/stiff so I figured since I bought the conditioner it will compensate for how coarse, dry, and tangled my hair gets with the shampoo . But no the conditioner does nothing to help. Not nourishing, not a detangler. Nothing . I've used many shampoos/conditioner sets in the past around the same price point and never have I had a problem like this. Ive never had this much breakage trying to brush my hair (even with an antibreakage detangler brush I love ). I used the product for weeks since I bought the biggest bottles and every time I've had the same results. Very dissappointed . Going back to my previous brand .
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree is and Always Will be a Staple
Love this shampoo now as well as way back in the lat 80's, early 90's. I like the tingling and the scent.
Dry scalp relief
Hair Type Straight Hair
I will never get tired of the cooling tea tree effect on my scalp when I use this shampoo. I love the smell and how fresh and clean I feel after.
Spa-like experience at home!
Hair Type Straight Hair
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampo and Conditioner are my favorites! I absolutely cannot live without them! I purchased the large pump bottles. I love that I have the option to buy the refill bags for them without having to replace the bottles because it's better for the environment. I also love the smell of the tea tree. It feels amazing and causes a tingling sensation on my scalp which reminds me of being at the spa! I have hair type 1A, which is straight, and fine. It's often dull and lacks volume, but I always have a good hair day when I use this. It's slightly more expensive than traditional shampoo and conditioner, but the large bottles last forever. I think it's worth the extra money for a special self care spa-like experience at home. I highly recommend giving these a try!
