Most Helpful Positive Review I will be using this again!!
I never leave reviews but I just bought this product hesitantly after reading the negative reviews. I use St. Tropez Dark Mousse self tan about once every 2 weeks in the Spring and then once a month in the Summer. I purposely don't apply every week even though St. Tropez says the tan will only last a week because I get really bad build up of previous tan. My tan starts coming off splotchy and in patches. I exfoliate but nothing really works but time.
I bought this today in hopes that it would work and it DOES!!!! I think the reason it is getting negative reviews is because it is NOT a quick fix and I definitely think it is mis-labeled by being described as able to "fix mistakes". If your tan has had time to fade on it's own and you need help to get the extra gunk off before you apply more tan, this is perfect!!!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't some miracle foam that removes tan like it kind of advertises. It takes some work. I used it with the exfoliator mit from St. Tropez, left it on my body for 10-15 minutes, and then scrubbed in the shower and the tan was visibly coming off in crumbles. I will definitely use this again to help remove my old tan.
Most Helpful Critical Review Depends on your tan!!
With all of the mixed reviews I decided it was best to just try out this product for myself—it is unfortunately the only tanner remover option that Ulta carries and I wanted to remove my old tan so I went for it!! My tan was beautiful for a few days and started to fade and get patchy like any good spray tan will. I have a first date in two days and I knew it would be horrendous by then if I didn't do anything at all! I bought the exfoliating mitt with it and I think that helped the most. The product alone is probably well-formulated alone, but you've gotta have something to scrub it with. The scrubbing really helped this patchy areas like my fingers/hands, toes/feet, my bra line, and bikini area. Didn't do wonders on larger, smoother areas like my legs. I think they're lighter now but not quite back to normal. I would recommend this product to anyone trying to get off fresh, harsh lines or trying to remove patches!! Definitely buy the mitt, too!

Gave me a lot of dry patches that wouldn't go away for months. i had to stop self tanning for a while all together to get it to go away! i also have a scar from where the patch was. i might've just been allergic but seeing other reviews saying it burned them makes me question it. it also didn't remove a thing.

this seems to work great! however i've only tried it on like a week long tan, and i left it on for about 15 min the rest came right off!

I've been self tanning every week for years and was so excited to try out a new product! Unfortunately it stung my skin so bad that it started turning red and it didn't even work. I have never written a review but I felt that this one was necessary. Also, I don't have sensitive skin at all so I can't even imagine the burn in someone with dry and sensitive skin. Save yourself and just use an exfoliating mitt and sit in the bath!
Didn't do the job

Removed some but not enough to make me buy it again.
Helps a lot

I notice a huge difference when using this product… it's 75% easier to get my self tanner off after I use this remover. I still need to buff off my tan using a remover mitt.. but this definitely helps the process.

Did absolutely nothing except burn my skin after 2 minutes. Painful and useless.

This didn't remove my spray tan at all.

Doesn't do anything whatsoever. Would not recommend. Even after a full week, took off absolutely no tan when I could see the lines of the tan starting to get little cracks.

St Tropez tan remover costs a bomb and does not work at all. I left it on for 5 min then 15 min then an hour. Nuthin. An exfoliating mitt with Jif works way better. Don't waste your time and money.
I would not recommend this product

After a few minutes, this product was burning my skin. Immediately took it off with no result of bronzer being removed.
It's like magic!

Was desperate to get the starting to rub off super dark tanner I had definitely applied several coats of over a couple weeks…. This stuff worked fantastically I just had to apply quite a bit and I got it fully removed after 2 applications!!! Amazing! After the 5 minutes I soaked in a hot tub and it melted away making the water muddy looking lol so you'll have to clean ur tub afterwards but that's not an issue.
Pro tip: use a exfoliating hand mitt to help scrub away!! Highly Recommend!!
The Bonus it smells amazing!!
Did not remove tan

Got this since it was the only tan eraser they carried. It did nothing at all for my week old tan that was splotchy and needed to be re done. I don't know it it was because it was a different brand?? But I just used and exfoliating mit and scrubbed hard and then went over my tan the next day after moisturizing. Ok for prep though
Didn't work for me at all

Did nothing , absolutely nothing. There wasn't any visible difference :(

Applied liberally and left on for 10 minutes. Old tan rolled right off in a warm shower when I used the removal mitt also! Easy peasy and left me ready for new color
Does not work

Don't waste your money, this did nothing for my botched self tan.
Didn't work for me

I purchased this specifically to "erase" self tanner in my finger webs and where I messed up application. Not only did it not remove the tan; it didn't even lighten it! I kept it because I self-tan weekly and figured I would give it a try as tanning prep but as far as erasing mistakes, don't waste your money.
Does not work!

I bought this product after a self tanner mishap. I had tried vinegar, baking soda (not that the same time), scrubbing until my skin hurt, etc. and nothing worked so I tried this product. It did absolutely nothing. It didn't fade the orange self tanner, it didn't remove any of it... nothing. I tried it twice & strictly followed directions. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
A LIFE SAVER!!!

I had a 4 day old self tan that was streaky and so patchy! I have pictures today and needed it off asap so I decided to try this out and I am so happy I did!!!! Like it said on the bottle, you need an exfoliating mitt. I used the Coola exfoliating tanning mitt. You need this!!!
YOU NEED THIS!
Danielle from Upstate NY
I'm 24 with extremely pale skin and have been self tanning for about 8 years consistently. I used to just use the St. Tropez or Loving Tan exfoliating mitt but found myself being exhausted in the shower and not even getting it all totally off!
THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. Using this before this shower, leaving on for 5 minutes like it says, then following up with a little buffing from the exfoliating mitt and BAM! My skin is back to its normal paleness lol!
I will be repurchasing this forever- I hope it never gets discontinued! If you self tan or spray tan- you NEED THIS!
This works but not exactly as advertised
EmilyJ from Ohio
This tan remover works well if the tan is at least a few days old. I have found that when used on a new tan it leaves patches remaining which might look worse than the original 'mistake' you might be trying to fix. I recommend this for removing the last bits of old tan before reapplying, it works well for this and helps your new tan go on smoothly.
Love this product!

I used this product in order to get rid of some very unwanted orange tones caused by a cheap brand of self tanning mouse I had gotten and I loved it. I tried every trick before buying because many reviews were not great, however I do not regret acquiring this product as not only did it help get rid of most of the tan with only one use, but it left my skin feeling super soft. I only left it on for 10 minutes but I will definitely be trying again tomorrow for another 10-15 and hopefully will get rid of this terrible orange experience.

I used this to remove my Bondisands ultra dark spray tan! It's was my first time using a remover spray. It works really well! Makes it aloe easier to scrub the tan off. Smells nice and your skin feels super smooth after! my tan was pretty dark and cracked but I removed it almost entirely after 3 days of use in a row. Definitely recommend.
Does not work

I tried this multiple time. I let sit 10 minutes and I even bought the mit. Does not work.
