- Q
Is this a better choice than the vitamin c serum for wrinkles and dark spots on the face? Is it best to stick with one or the other? Or would you recommend this at night and vitamin c serum in the morning?
- Asked by Day
- Official Answer By Mad HippieAbsolutely! Our Super A Serum is designed specifically to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminish the appearance of age spots and skin discoloration, and improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. It is expertly formulated for nightly use, as retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to sun exposure. With that, we recommend applying our Super A Serum each night, and sunscreen each morning to keep your skin protected and radiant. Our Vitamin C Serum layers beautifully under sunscreen for a morning routine. Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
When I apply it to my face after wash it rubs off is that normal ?
- Asked by Pink
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! We recommend massaging 2-4 drops of the Super A Serum into freshly washed skin that has been gently patted dry. This amount is usually enough to cover both face & neck. This is a water-based serum that should absorb quickly and easily into skin. If you are experiencing some pilling, try using less of the serum to see if that helps. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
What is the percentage of the 3 bio active retinoids?
- Asked by L
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! Our formulas are proprietary blends and we do not release ingredient percentages. Our goal when formulating is to deliver the best results we can achieve without causing irritation to the average user. We don't rely on single active formulas - we choose synergies to enhance results. We recommend trying it to see how it works for you. - Q
Hi! Ive been researching natural, holistic ingredients and products and my head is spinning. I have rosecea and use 2 prescriptions, one at night for the acne, the other in the morning for redness. I have also used other company products for wrinkles on my face, chest, and neck that have made little difference. Based on all the Q&A, if Mad Hippi is safe to use with rosecea, I would like to start using Super A Serum at night, and C serum in the morning. Also need a recommendation for a moisturizer. What do you recommend?
- Asked by Lisa
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! While our products are generally well-tolerated by all skin types, they are not formulated to heal or treat skin conditions such as rosacea. We always encourage those with specific skin conditions to patch test products to ensure that their skin tolerates the ingredients. What works for one person may not work for another. We use numerous oils and extracts in our line and encourage customers with specific skin sensitivities/conditions to review the ingredient list thoroughly to ensure that the products do not contain any ingredients that may cause sensitivities/flare-ups. We also recommend chatting with your dermatologist to get their insight and ensure they don't have any concerns. It's best to avoid the AHA Exfoliating Peel and Microdermabrasion Facial as alpha hydroxy acids can cause flare ups for those with rosacea. You could try the Vitamin C Toning Mist, Vitamin C Serum, and Face Cream and see if they work for you. I recommend patch-testing the Super A Serum if you opt to try it, as it is rather potent. It may also help to talk to your prescribing doctor since you use prescription products. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Hi there! I'm wondering if after applying the Mad Hippie Vitamin A serum, can I mist before applying my moisturizer? Thanks
- Asked by Briggy
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! We recommend applying skincare products from thinnest in consistency to thickest, with water-based products going on the skin before oil-based. If you are using a mist in your routine, the order of application would be: cleanse, mist, serum, moisturizer. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can I wax my eyebrows while using this product? If I need to discontinue use prior to waxing, how long before waxing do I need to stop using it?
- Asked by Amy A.
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! In general, most aestheticians recommend not using vitamin A (retinoids/retinols) when waxing as it sloughs off dead skin cells and can make skin more sensitive when waxing (which also pulls off dead skin cells along with hair). If you are having it done professionally, you can always ask for recommendations on post care, but typically, gentle cleansers and moisturizers, and of course sunscreen, are advised for the first couple of days and treatment serums are usually resumed after the first 48 hours. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
After how long of applying the Vitamin A Serum do I need to apply moisturizer? How many minutes should I wait ?
- Asked by Joselyn
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! We recommend massaging the Vitamin A Serum into freshly washed skin that has been gently patted dry. You can follow a few minutes later with your moisturizer, if using. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q

- Q

- Q
Does this help with fine lines wrinkles, and dark spots?
- Asked by Noelle
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! The Vitamin A Serum is wonderful for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminishing the appearance of age spots and skin discoloration, and improving the appearance of sun-damaged skin. It can be used nightly immediately after cleansing and patting dry. Please let us know if we can assist further! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
I have the MH AHA Serum, do you recommend the two products be used together? If so, which first?
- Asked by Cat
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! The Vitamin A Serum and the AHA Exfoliating Peel are not pH-compatible. We recommend alternating use of vitamin A (such as retinoids) with alpha hydroxy acids at night rather than layering them as they can over-exfoliate and irritate the skin when used together. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you

So impressed - comparable to $$$ brands
This stuff is so flippin' impressive! I decided to try it during a bogo 50% deal. I have used the Vitamin C serum and decided to try this retinol serum when restocking (retinol is otherwise known as Vitamin A). I am super impressed by the noticeable difference in my skin texture in the morning. Sinc...

Eh
I wanted to love this product based on the reviews. I tried it for two months off and on and decided to return it. The serum leaves a slightly sticky residue and made no visible improvement to the discoloration of my skin. It's not drying, and made my skin look rosy, but I don't think it "dramatical...

I've been using this for years and I love it.
Great product.
Holy Grail
This serum changed my life! I struggled with hormonal breakouts and was using Curology (big mistake). I got an organic facial, and the tech recommended switching to plant-based organic A serums, so I tried this. I have not had a breakout since using it, and my skin texture has dramatically improved!! I will be using this serum for life!
Amazing
I have no breakouts from using this. I have a really hard time finding things i can use without breaking out. So far everything I used from Mad Hippie has been good to my skin.
Glad I got to sample it
I received the 0.5 oz bottle in the Ulta Beauty Glow Into Spring bag and was excited because I did need a new retinol. It has a nice light citrus/floral scent and goes on not feeling to heavy. I haven't had any issues with peeling or sensitivity using it every other night, but I have used retinol before this so it's not new to my skin. Price-wise it's a good bang for your buck compared to the Cosrx oil I was using before. I do plan to repurchase this when I run out, maybe the larger size.
Nice compromise to the higher end serums
I (29F) was hestiant at first before buying it. I use it after every face wash then gently either massage in my skin or use my Rose Wiartz roller. The smell has nice light scent smell. Reminds me of a Burt's Bees smell. It helps smooth my skin and gives me a nice refresh face. I have semi-sensitive skin so it's also nice for that.
