Briogeo Style + Treat Yuzu + Plum Oil Air Dry Hair Styling Cream

I wrote a glowing review of this product not too long ago. The small sample I got as a GWP was so great for my hair type and I was excited to get the full-size and finally have an easy air-dry option. The full-size bottle I purchased is basically a different product. I emailed Briogeo to see if something was wrong, and was told that the product is very new and hasn't had any formulation changes. I was told that "the product is naturally a thin cream that builds up viscosity over time". What? These sealed products are changing SO drastically in a matter of maybe, weeks? Months? Both products were opened and used within a week of purchase. I got the sample a month ago and the full-size a week ago. They're different products! This is not a matter of "it worked better once". Sample: whiter, thicker cream, better hold, no greasy feeling, reduced frizz, wave definition, thick enough that a dollop left a "peak" in my hand. Full: more translucent, off-white, runny, no hold, made my whole head feel greasy. Idk how a product that supposedly hasn't been reformulated can be so drastically different in two versions purchased mere WEEKS apart. I guess if they're implying that the product I purchased will eventually turn into the product I sampled, I'll have a whole different opinion in a few weeks.

I wanted to love this, because I usually like their products, but this one was a hot mess. Although it smelled good, it left my hair, tacky, waxy, and with residue on my scalp that looked like dandruff. As soon as you brush it out, it's a frizzy mess. This went straight to the garbage. Same with the edge smoothing/flyaway stick, that one was waxy as well. The search for an effective air dry cream continues…

Too heavy for my hair

I've been looking for something that would control my frizz and make my hair look better after brushing it after the shower and this is it!! Its so easy to use and it gives my hair just the right about ot volume and texture without making it look messy. If youre just looking for something to throw in your hair after the shower, this is it!!

I have spent a truly embarrassing amount of money on hair products. Not that much of it seemed to matter - and not that I helped anything. My hair is long, thin, bleached, and very wavy with some spirals, but flatter on top. There is ALWAYS frizz. Always. I blow dry my hair most of the time, because I just can't make my natural texture look good. I got a sample of this stuff as a GWP and, trying to give my hair a break from heat drying, slapped some in. Didn't really scrunch or enhance shape. Didn't use my trusty Aquis towel. Just smacked this in and went about my evening. There's no frizz. But the top also isn't weighed down? It feels like it has a little hold, my hair probably couldn't handle more than a day with this in. But I'm going to have to pick up a bottle. It may save me this summer when I don't want to dry my hair (why fight humidity/the forces of nature, which always win?)
