The perfect vanilla!

I bought the original Silver Moon perfume several years ago and fell in love with it. The vanilla scent is the strongest (and the best) part of this perfume. I don't really notice the other scents. It's a perfect vanilla, too -- warm and rich, a little sugary but not too much; definitely not arti...ficial or chemically. I love the celestial-themed packaging too. I still have some of my original bottle left, but wanted to try the new version of this perfume before I ran out just in case I hated it and had to find a new scent. I was wary after seeing so many complaints about other older scents (like Island Vanilla, which I often used before finding this scent) getting reformulated into something awful. I'm still surprised to report that that is not the case with Silver Moon -- in fact, I'd even say this is a rare case of a reformulation actually being better than the original product! The value is amazing, since you do get twice the amount of product for only a few dollars more than the original. I'm sure some slight adjusting of ingredients was done to make up for this, and perhaps the new formulation is of lower quality than the original, but I can't tell. The scent is almost exactly the same. It's stronger than the original, especially for the first few minutes, but then it calms down to what I'm used to. One of my only complaints with the original formulation is that the scent faded too fast -- this scent also fades, of course, but I can still smell hints of it on my skin even many hours after applying. There is one downgrade from the original, though: the packaging. I miss the unique bottle shape and the foil designs on the outside box and the bottle itself that the original perfume had. The whole Moon Moods line with their horoscope-esque blurbs was so fun, honestly, and I'm sad to see that go. The Aromapower concept just doesn't seem as creative to me. But the actual perfume inside the bottle is still as lovely as ever, so I'm still giving five stars. Please don't ever get rid of this scent!
