Doesn't smell like marshmallow or vanilla
It's hard to write a review for fragrance because scent is so subjective. I personally didn't like how this smelled, it was a bit too mature-smelling for me, like something I'd imagine an older woman in her late 40s or 50s wearing (I'm 34). I also asked my mom (age 65), who used to wear the original...

Not a Fan
I absolutely love both Black Opium and Black Opium Over Red, but this one missed the mark for me. This was a blind buy due a deal Ulta had and liking the other Black Opium scents. I typically like vanilla scents, but this was a more mature/ powdery scent. I smells like something my grandmother would wear. My favorite part was the glittery packaging. Sadly, I returned this one.
Love this perfume!
I was a big fan of the original Opium this one I like even better!
Cigarettes, stale coffee, alcohol
Well, this one certainly does speak to the indie sleaze art scene—its smells of alcohol, (not pleasantly boozy like a well crafted cocktail, but pure ethanol), stale coffee (or even coffee breath really), and the most offensive, overpowering, noticeable note of all—cigarettes. Not an elegant tobacco note that moght be apppealing to some when mixed with woody or leathery notes (none of which I'd still expect nor appreciate in a fragrance marketed towards women and literally called "glitter".) Nope, this is cheap chain-smoking behind a dumpster cigarettes. Maybe they were going for "toasted" marshmallow? Close but—mind the pun—no cigar. Oh, and theres some bizarre orange blossom note mixed into all this. I had high hopes, really like black opium, liked the now discontinued nuit blanche flanker even better, and also really like over red. Thought this would be a safe blind buy—but NOPE! Any ways, thats only what it smells like to me. My mom really loved it, but also only smelled orange blossom and vanilla, but said it was "too sweet" for her. Oh how i wish it had been too sweet for me. Beautiful package, smell before you buy—maybe you get lucky.
ok smelling
This is a vanilla floral. The marshmellow in it is actually a kind of sharp smell. I liked the smell at first but then it kind of gets annoying with the "sharpness" of the smell. The best perfume in the Black Opium collection is Black Opium Extreme. That one I found to have the softest scent in the collection. It is a soft vanilla floral that never gets annoying. It does not give me any allergies. It is a beautiful scent. It is long lasting.
Glitter for the win
A lot like Black Opium, but much sweeter and less sultry. Great for date night, girls' night, concerts. Its a fun, flirty scent.
