Beautiful, refined, and a bit cheeky

RMS Scarlet Moon Fragrance is a nearly perfect representation of this brand wrapped up in one lovely scent. This is a blood orange without any of the bitterness I have encountered from other blood orange notes, just a juicy orange with character and a touch of aromatic freshness from some fir and bl...ack pepper. The woody hinoki and cedar base is the perfect compliment, keeping the scent from being too sweet or fleeting, which tends to happen with citrus scents. There's a somewhat candied touch to it in the first hour or so of wear, something nostalgic that keeps me intrigued as the scent dries down into warmth and comfort. The only thing that keeps this scent from being perfect is the performance. Hinoki and cedar tend to be prominent scent notes and I was hoping for a good strong woody base once the citrus had run it's course, and while it's definitely a beautiful drydown, it isn't very potent. I just wanted a bit more, which I consider a compliment because of how much I enjoy this scent. I will still be picking up a full size bottle, and I hope RMS comes out with more fragrances because this first one is a fantastic start.
