Spritz product onto exposed areas of your scalp 15 minutes prior to sun exposure. To achieve even coverage, part your hair into several sections, and massage product onto scalp. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming and sweating, immediately after towel drying and at least every 2 hours.

Thinking of regular sunscreen it needs to be frequently reapplied. Is the same true for this? If so, how frequent is for daily use and not necessarily swimming?

After you have your base layer, it’s important to reapply your SPF at least every 2 hours, with one exception: if you’ve been swimming, sweating, or towel drying, you should reapply as soon as possible afterward since these activities can decrease the effectiveness of your sunscreen. Note that if you’re using a chemical sunscreen (as opposed to a mineral sunscreen) with non-mineral active ingredients like Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, or Octocrylene, it’s important to wait 15 minutes before more sun exposure to let the sunscreen absorb into your skin.Was this answer helpful to you

I was just on a week-long vacation in Puerto Rico and this saved my scalp while out in the hot Caribbean sun! As someone who doesn't like to wear hats on vacation, this came in so handy while on the go. For context, I have sensitive skin with Seborrheic dermatitis and I didn't have any sort of interactions with this spray. I love the direct nozzle and how it sprays the product evenly throughout the head. The spray is clear so it didn't stain any of my lighter clothes that I had on while spraying it. Having this gave me confidence while out in the sun - I was completely worry free and didn't need to be paranoid about getting burnt. It almost felt like an invisible shield in place of a hat. I also love the smell - it's more of an herbal scent but nothing offensive or strange. I'm removing a star because I can see how this product may be greasy feeling for those with thin or fine hair. Since mine is on the thicker side, I didn't have any issues but while I'm out in the sun sweating, my hair gets greasy of course so it doesn't make a difference to me. I'll definitely have this in my purse throughout the spring and summer. To start with - I have fine, thin hair, so I always struggle to find that one good product that will not make my hair greasy, it is not heavy for my hair. COOLA Scalp and Hair Mist with SPF 30 is just a great discovery for me! This mist does a great job at sun protection without messing up with my fine hair, not leaving a sticky residue. It is pretty lightweight, it dries quickly and by the way, it has a nice fresh scent. Can not skin the fact that it is organic and reef- friendly!!! The only concern is that it can feel a bit drying on my scalp after using it for some time. Otherwise, I would say that it is a great option for sun protection without weighing my hair down. I thought that the coola scalp and hair mist sunscreen spray was the perfect way to protect my hair and scalp from the harsh Florida sun! It came in beautiful packaging (the prettiest beachy blue!) and misted smoothly. It was easy to apply an even coat all over. Obviously since it is sunscreen it's going to leave a bit of a greasy feeling and look to your hair, so this definitely isn't for you if you don't plan on washing or getting your hair wet. Because of this I wouldn't use this daily, only when I'm in direct sunlight for multiple hours. It is also scented very tropically, but has a strong smell of alcohol (which is expected of course because it's sunscreen). The product is water-resistant, which is great for the beach or the pool. The scent is a natural ocean salted sage scent that is light and fresh, but not for everyone. My hair can get oily very easily, especially in the summer, so I am mindful to not apply too much product to avoid extra greasiness.I am not sensitive to the sun, but if you are, I would recommend a hat for sun protection instead if you plan on spending hours in the sun. I'm wary that the product is effective without dousing your scalp with the product. Reapplying every 2 hours can also cause product buildup in your hair and won't look great.
