Works better than babyliss nano titanium
I had the babyliss thin nano titanium but it stopped working one day after being left on for too long. Decided to try the Conair luxe one in the 1.25 inch (because I have very long hair) I am amazed!!! It left my hair shiny, it heated up quickly, it has auto shut off and heats up to 455 degrees farenheit. It leaves my hair thick. The babyliss one took forever to do my hair because it's thinner and made my hair look less thick, too. The only downside to the Conair is that there is no in between 415 and 455 degrees sadly. I wish there was at least 430. I bought the Conair half off, super worth it!!! Please don't discontinue this one, Conair!!!! Don't knock it because it's a fraction of the price, try it out!

It heats up fast and you can set the temperature pretty high. I have type 2A/2B hair with fine strands, but a VERY full head of hair that likes to curl back up at the slightest bit of humidity. So it is hard to straighten when the iron is not hot enough, and or there is a gap between the metal plates. This iron does have a small gap, but the plates very nearly touch completely. The metal is very smooth and my hair glides through well with no snags. The outside of the iron is curved so you could curl your hair or make waves with it too. I really like this and glad I got it.

When I started using it really wasn't doing anything to my hair. So I tried it again and it snagged my hair. Then I looked at it and the plates weren't even close to touching and I noticed a bubble on one of the plates. So then I figured I got a defect.
