A luxurious fragrance, with a warm, spicy-amber

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I received a sample of a very special fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana. This is The One Pour Homme Eau de Parfum, a 2025 re-release/reformulation which marks a refreshed take on the beloved 2008/2015 classic. This is timed to celebrate the line'...s 20th anniversary alongside the new Parfum flanker. Crafted (or refined) by Jean-Christophe Hérault, this iteration promises the same iconic woody-ambery DNA but with enhanced performance, up to 16 hours of claimed longevity. and a modernized bottle design featuring cleaner lines and a clearer juice presentation (no gradient like older versions). The opening bursts with bright grapefruit, orange (Tarocco orange for that juicy Italian vibrancy), and a touch of cardamom, it's citrusy and spicy right away, more lively and less ginger-heavy than some older batches (many note the ginger note has been dialed back or removed, shifting focus to a fresher, fruitier start). This makes it feel contemporary and approachable without losing the warm invitation the line is known for. In the heart, clary sage brings an herbal, slightly aromatic edge, paired with subtle spices and emerging tobacco hints. It's woodier and more herbal overall compared to the richer, sweeter 2015 OG, less plush sweetness, more refined dryness and balance. The tobacco here is present but smoother, not as dominant or smoky as in some flankers. The base settles into that signature amber, tobacco, and sandalwood warmth, with vetiver adding a clean, grounding finish. It's cozy and seductive, retaining the magnetic, date-night allure, but the reformulation leans woodier and less opulent, a trade-off some love for versatility, others miss the old plushness. Performance is the big upgrade: I get a solid projection for 3-5 hours and longevity pushing 8-12+ hours (closer to the marketed 16 in ideal conditions), a noticeable step up from weaker recent batches of the pre-2025 EDP. It's not a nuclear beast like some modern powerhouses, but it holds presence well for fall/winter, evenings, or office-to-date transitions. Overall, this 2025 EDP is a smart evolution, brighter and more herbal up top, woodier in the dry-down, with better staying power and a sleek new look. It keeps the effortless charm and mass-appeal seduction that made "The One" legendary, while feeling refreshed rather than reinvented. This is a reliable crowd-pleaser that justifies repurchasing in its updated form. Highly recommended if you're after that signature warmth with modern longevity.
