Most Helpful Positive Review No. 3,5,6 I use Olaplex 3,5,6. My hair was fried and read, 14 years of straightening it on 230 degrees everyday and aged 24 my hair was uneven, falling out, and my natural curls were fried. I'd worn extensions for 2 years prior to this to try and hide the damage which ‘spoiler alert' only damaged or more. Then I got clip in extensions after my bonded ones came out and this continued to pull, break and damage my hair which was once waist length curly and beautiful. In March last year when we went into lockdown I decided to ditch the ghd's, cut the dead ends off (I cried in my bedroom when I realised my hair was so damaged I was left with a Bob) and I only washed my hair once every 2 weeks and very very very slowly my natural curls started to vaguely reappear. I started using Olaplex 2 months ago and my my hair is thicker, shinier, I now do a little trim for the ends every 6 weeks (I hadn't had it cut For 4 years before lockdown). When you notice that little bit of growth when your hair hasn't grown in years, to then cut it is hard but I now know it's a necessity. Olaplex is a god send, but as well as this I won't deny I have put a lot of work and care into my hair. I wouldn't have just been able to put no. 3 on my hair this time Last year and it would be fine, but the combination of hard work and Olaplex has made a huge difference. No other hair product (and I can assure you I have tried Every. Single. One. nearly compares. So thank you Olaplex for giving my hair a new lease of life!
Most Helpful Critical Review Not meant for type 4 coarse curls This did absolutely nothing for my hair. I had very high expectations, none of which were met. I decided to use this after I had a few curls refuse to spring back after wearing a silk press for 2 weeks. It smells great, but the price tag is absurd and the effectiveness isn't there. After applying and washing out a few hours later, my curls were just as elongated as before I used the Olaplex. Had I known this, I would have saved myself the application and extra washes and just resigned myself to waiting for them to spring back over time. I was so unhappy after I washed out the product and began styling that I washed my hair again, and decided to become a temporary "straight natural" until I get my curl situation worked out. For all my type 4 curl friends, this product isn't meant for us.

I read a lot about this product versus other similar ones and opted to try this. I wet my hair as directed and slathered it on. It says to leave it on for a minimum of 10 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes or so since I tend to have a lot of frizz and really wanted to try and tame it. After shampooing and conditioning, I could already feel a difference. It felt so much smoother! After drying my hair, I couldn't get over the shine! I actually had people ask what I had done since my hair was so much straighter, softer ad shinier. While this is a little costly, to me it's definitely worth it.

I mix this with Alma Oil and apply it to my hair prior to washing it. Keeps my hair soft and healthy even with regular heat.

I have hair that damages so easily... tons of split ends if I don't trim it every 6 weeks... I thought this would help. nope! I hated the way it made my hair feel and look after too. it was so frizzy feeling. I'm not sure if I am missing something or doing it wrong with all these great reviews, but I was highly disappointed
Works really well 5

Works really well. Smells pleasant, too. My hair is still naturally curly -- as I want it -- after bleaching it twice in the same day. The product works as it's supposed to. Thanks.
Amazing! 5

I received this product in a Birchbox last year and thought I would give it a try. Over 3 decades of coloring and straightening my curly hair with 400°+ heat, and this is the only product that I have ever used that truly repairs damage! I am currently using it with No 0 and although it does work better, it is still amazing on its own! I wash my hair once or twice a week at most and usually have a scary amount of hair that falls out, and now, I don't even have to clean hair from the drain anymore! I have no split ends, my ends aren't dry anymore, and I don't even get tangles in my hair anymore. I use joico products for washing and conditioning but since I've added the hair perfector, I have never loved my hair more then I do now! I started by using No.3 every time I would wash my hair for about a month. Now I use it every other time, and I use No.0 once a month.
Didn't work for me 3
Crissy from Indianapolis
I was really excited to try this as I've been dying my hair for years. I used the #0, and an entire bottle of #3 over a few weeks time. I also used the #4 Shampoo and #5 Conditioner and it did absolutely nothing. I tried to let my hair air dry and it looked worse then before starting Olaplex. I know a lot of people have great results I was just not one of them.
Love this, but advice to anyone buying it for the furst time 5

Do no buy if you have damaged ends so bad you need a hair cut/trim. It won't soften the hair or repair majority of it. This is designed for people mostly color treat their hair or bleach their hair. It's not for people who've never colored their hair before. The reason is, the product is used for those who just lifted their hair or bleached. It's to help seal the hair follicles so they don't break off after bleaching or lifting the color.
.
If you have a 4b or higher in hair texture, make sure you 1) haven't washed your hair, 2) have no products in your hair that would prevent it from absorbing, & 3) do not combine with other brands or it might not perform as directed.
.
Also the thicker or longer the hair, the more product you. I once used this on someone. She had 3b type hair. I used almost an entire regular size bottle because of the thickness.
.
Definitely leave on for 20-30 mins to get better results and please, with the upmost importance, use a super moisturizing conditioner FIRST before shampooing. You need to thoroughly rinse No. 3 out, super moisturizing conditioning product, shampoo the scalp only, and regular conditioner you use. This will help further the results.
.
And lastly, test a thick strand of hair before going all in. See how it feels as it's absorbing. And then check 15 mins afterwards, not 10.

Did the quality go down? 2

Is it just me or did the quality go down in hair products bought at ulta? I thought this was supposed to be salon certified but this, plus the other expensive products I bought, are not doing my hair justice.

I use it weekly and it makes my hair feel soft and appears to have less breakage. I haven't used it for a long period of time but if it continues to work as well as it has so far I would recommend it to anyone. I am looking forward to using the other products in this line.
Seals the deal 5

I pair this with no.0 and I feel like it doubles the effect that I would have if I just used no.0. Even after rinsing it out after shampooing I can already feel a difference

I purchased the No 3 this month and used it twice. I left it on my hair overnight, just using the No. 3 and was actually pleased the next morning when I woke up. I have 4b hair which has grown past my shoulders since Covid. I had lots of time to enjoy year 3 of my natural hair transition and really learn what I needed to do to encourage growth and retention. Anyway, I decided to try Olaplex after reading so much about it. I used only No. 3 and twisted my hair ---no heat. I washed it the next week, used the No. 3 and added the No. 0 and bonding oil to my regimen and this time, I used heat (hairdryer and flat iron). I did not get the wow results I'd read about. In fact, I had to add in an additional product to ensure my hair would not have flyaways or look dull which it did after just using the Olaplex products. I learned two things... 1. My hair only likes the No. 3 BUT, there are products that provide equal results. 2. Sometimes the hype of a product is actually more impressive than the results.
I would be buying again! 5

Made my hair manageable and so soft and light! Definitely will be using again.
Beware!!!! 2
Bre from Cleveland
Made my hair feel great and silky BUT strips color and makes me break out in rash everywhere it touches my face and burns like crazy… I didn't think anything of it first two washes until my friend asked if o was experiencing the same thing and that's when I realized it was this product causing it, and I do not have super sensitive skin… do not have issues with 90% of products. Will be contacting ulta to get compensation.
Made my hair soft and shiny 5

Used it as directed; towel dried hair and left on for 10 minutes, then rinsed in shower. My hair felt so soft and smooth after it dried. Made my highlighted hair look super healthy.
MIRACLE Product! 5

If you tend to bleach your hair and you've noticed it breaking and the ends getting really dry then your just like me… well until finding this product. After 1 use my hair was way softer than it was before and the ends weren't nearly as dry. The more and more i use it the healthier and stronger my hair gets! If your just gonna buy 1 olaplex product get this one!!
Great product for broken damaged hair 5
Trish from Longview, TX
Since my hair was so damaged I started with twice a week now I'm down to once a week. I can soooo see a difference. It's not a conditioner it is a bonding agent. I figured my hair looks so damaged I tried this product and wa-la great hair again!
Love it ! 5
Mariola from Illinois
Ive been using this for about 2 years now, my hair was super damaged from bleaching and this stuff saved it. Not sure why the directions say can be used 3 times a week though, using this too much could damage your hair more or cause fall out. I do the treatment every two weeks and leave it on for 1 hour. I also don't towel dry my hair too much.

Still testing out the product. However, it smells exactly like Bath and Body Works sweet pea scent. No sure if anyone else has noticed, but I wanted to share in case other people notice scents like I do.
Never again !! 1

I was very excited about this product when I first bought it. Used this product once styled my hair like normal and noticed my ends were very dry, applied oil. A month or so later I used olaplex and again my hair is so dry that it is breaking off at the ends. This may work for most but beware not for all!!
Love!! 4

I've only used this a couple of times so far, but I'm already in love! It makes my hair so much softer and I hope with more uses it fixes some of my damage from coloring
holy grail. just yes. 5

this is a MUST have for highlighted/color treated, damaged hair. if you're going to pick just one olaplex product, this is the one to get. after using this on a wash day (i do use the whole olaplex system - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8) my hair feels amazing. it feels silky soft with less frizz. it feels significantly more healthy and not dry at all. even without the rest of the olaplex system this product is amazing. 100/10 recommend.
This seems like fake Olaplex 1
Alexia from San Diego
I have used Ola Plex number three that I bought from the salon and it was like it turned my hair and silk. I bought this from all of Plex and used it and like other users it fried my hair. Clearly this is potentially a fake product that Ulta is selling and I'm really disappointed in them and Olaplex for doing this.
