New FAVORITE out of her whole line!

I'm so glad I gave this a second chance because this is such a nuanced take on vanilla, but also crowd pleasing. When I first tried it, I didn't enjoy it because at the time, I was searching for full-bodied, heavy gourmand vanillas. This was too light for what I was looking for. Now I've learned to ...diversify my perfume collection because I can't wear heavy gourmands all the time without them getting cloying at times. This fits the bill for all occasions: all seasons, office environment, date nights, out for brunch, etc. It starts off as a fruity vanilla with the plum note that's present in the opening and middle. The plum starts off naturally tart, then deepens. Then the orris comes in and it's such an interesting note to be in a fragrance because it gives off a "dry" texture. It makes the vanilla feel dry/cold. Orris also smells like aged paper and woody on my skin, tad bit suede-like even. I much prefer the orris in Mod Vanilla more than in God is a Woman. The one in GIAW pulls way too woody for my liking. The aged paper scent of orris reminds me of smelling paper from books. The musk in this scent is skin-like as well. If Cloud came off as BO and too musky for your liking, you won't get any of that in Mod Vanilla. I can't really smell any similarities between Mod Vanilla and Cloud, except for both of them having an airy fluffiness to them. If anything Baccarat Rouge 540 smells more similar to Cloud than Mod Vanilla. Mod Vanilla is also sweet but in a less juvenile way. It's soft and gentle. The dry down is so addicting because of the cocoa butter, which comes out more and more as time progresses. Reminds me of a well made chocolate, not a sugary milk-chocolate. Despite Mod Vanilla being fluffy and airy, longevity is great so far! It has a moderate to intimate sillage and it's still projecting off of me after 4-5 hours. It goes from half an arm's length of projection for about 3 hours before getting a little closer at the 4-5 hour mark. But it still hasn't become a skin scent yet as I'm wearing this right now. I'm still smelling this off my clothes and skin without having to go "find" it and stick my nose to my wrist. This is an easy everyday scent with great longevity and nuance. LOVE this! Only con is that I wish the bottle was made better. I think the design and concept is so cute and out of the box, but the plastic cap is flimsy. The two plastic pieces of the cap can separate and there were broken plastic pieces inside of the cap.
