- Q
Is the tone like "cool or neutral" a preference or something you choose based on your skin tones? I know I would be light to medium, and wouldn't want warm tones. But I may be that tone.
- Asked by Julie
- Official Answer By NARS - BEHello, thank you for your interest in our Light Reflecting Foundation. Your undertone will determine which foundation tone would suit you. A shade with a neutral tone may suit a complexion that is slightly warm or cool, as well as neutral and some olive complexions. A cool tone foundation would be suitable for those with a peachy, pink, or red undertones. A warm toned foundation will suit those with golden, yellow, or some olive tones. If you think you may have a warm undertone (green tinged veins can be an indicator) and do not want a warm toned foundation, I would recommend a neutral shade, or one that leans slightly warm. One example of a neutral shade at a light-medium depth would be Santa Fe. -Ashley, NARS ArtistWas this answer helpful to you

I've tried shade huahine but its slightly too light but has a good undertone, caracas is too warm and orange, do you have a shade that is darker than huahine that could match me?
- Asked by Amb
- Official Answer By NARS - BEHello, and thank you for your interest in our Light Reflecting Foundation. The shade CADIZ is one shade deeper than HUAHINE, and has the same neutral tones. - Samantha, NARS ArtistWas this answer helpful to you

I tried Mont Blanc and it is too light for my skin and will not blend in but sits on my skin. I love the way it feels but need a shade a little deeper in tone. I have rosacea and my chin, nose and forehead and the area stays a little red all day. Which shade should I try next. Thank you
- Asked by Jennifer
- Official Answer By NARS - BEHello, and thank you for your interest in our Light Reflecting Foundation. The next shade deeper than MONT BLANC with the same neutral undertones would be GOBI. This is just a bit deeper, but is the same in undertone. - Samantha, NARS ArtistWas this answer helpful to you
- Q
What would be a good primer to use with this for mature skin? Also for mature skin would you recommend a setting spray or a certain setting powder with this?
- Asked by Missy
- Official Answer By NARS - BEHello, and thank you for your interest in our Light Reflecting Foundation. The Light Reflecting Primer would pair beautifully with this formula, and would enhance radiance in the skin. This is suitable for all skin types, including mature skin. You could then set with our Light Reflecting Setting Mist for added radiance and prolonged wear time. If you would like to use a powder, our Light Reflecting Setting powder is ideal - this is a translucent Setting Powder with a natural finish. - Samantha, NARS ArtistWas this answer helpful to you
- Q

My first Nars
I'm in love. This is my first Nars foundation purchase and it's gorgeous on my skin. I did a shade match and it was spot on. Flawless and lightweight. Wore it for 11 hours and it didn't move and was not oily. I'm in the shade Deep 5 Zambie. It definitely makes your skin glow in a healthy way.

Great coverage
I had the opportunity to ty the NARS light reflecting foundation. The color didn't match me the way other foundation do, but it did provide great coverage without more than a dime-quarter size amount. The foundation didn't cake at all and didn't run after a spin work out. Overall, I think it's a gre...

Moisturizing and not drying
Switched to NARS after using Estee and I love how dewy (but not too dewy) and natural this looks on my skin. Feels natural without feeling heavy.
Looks amazing but can't get past the smell
This foundation is absolutely gorgeous. It goes on beautifully and stays throughout the day. It is definitely a dewy finish it that is what you are looking for. Unfortunately i could not get past the smell. I am not super sensitive when it comes to smells, but this straight up smells like im putting bug spray or something on my face. Its not just a light smell either its very strong and pungent.
caused breakouts
I do get hormonal breakouts at times (I'm 53), but not THAT bad, I really think this made my skin break out. And the match quiz did not help me, Valarius is too orange for me. Pretty disappointing and a waste of quite a few dollars.
Um no
I've spent over 25 years wearing EsteeLauder, converted to Revlon to break up costs and to get a tad more moisture as I age. EL I'm Cashew color. I was matched up Barcelona (which was too light for me) or Valencia (which was too orange for me). Revlon I have to buy 2 colors to mix. Nars, well I love their blushes. Their foundation seemed to be loved by many, so I thought I'd try out of boredom.... first off, when I say it's runny, I mean, you literally need a drop. its almost like I dumped an entire bottle of serum into my foundation. Yes, that's how runny it is, even when rubbing into my face. I looked like a wet wax face. It felt uncomfortable like I wanted to itch it off. Even with a setting powder it was wet. Other makeup did NOT blend well at all either. Side note, I have PCOS, so I need full coverage. This is probably the furthest from medium/full/build able coverage. So it's a huge no for me. Not only that, during the day I kept getting a wiff of something rancid on my face. I have sensitive skin. Made where I shave, turn red and seap through. I'll stick with what I use. Love Nars, but not the foundation. Probably perfect for people who want a BB cream lol
Turns Orange!
I wore this foundation for a full day to do a wear test and see how the product looked from running around all day... I'll give it a 7/10. Shade match (Oslo) was perfect!... for a hour. Got in the car, flicked open the mirror, and BAM! Orange! Nothing else wrong with the product though. I'll compliment the formula. I have combination skin and a lot of products get patchy around my nose and the apples of my cheeks. This foundation didnt, however, I did have to apply multiple layers for full coverage. Definitely buildable! If the product didnt oxidize so much it would've been 10/10, 5 stars, but I did end up returning the foundation.
