Shadow Stick With a Twist!

I already adore these shadow stick so much!! These ladies pack a punch. On bare skin, they are not fully opaque ('Golden Coast' is an exception) but they have a wonderful tinted base. There is a lovely combination of shimmering elements as well as the bold sparkles. Additionally, these are insane in... both low and high light settings. Ahh!! The application process is unique as these have a very wet, cooling feel to them when they are first applied. I do enjoy this as the sparkles are lightly suspended and the overall dried down product is absolutely weightless. There is a small window of time after application to lightly tap and feather the edges for a softer look, but once she's dry, she is absolutely locked in. After trialing a few different application methods/bases, I found that these perform less well overtop a liquid primer or concealer. Because of how light and liquidy feeling the base product is, without any powder to set a concealer or primer, they tend to crease. The best way, I found to maximize the potential and tap into that beautiful staging power is to either set with a translucent powdered or lay down an eyeshadow base prior to applying the shadow stick. Since these do have a more translucent base, they pair wonderfully over eyeshadow which helps the colors pop even more! While it will pick up shadow, I found a light hand will not move powdered eyeshadows and that a gentle wipe on a tissue will clean the shadow stick up easily. Since these are a very wet eyeshadow stick, keeping the clear inner cap on the shadow stick is of the upmost importance. Without it, the lifetime use of these shadows will dwindle rapidly into an unusable territory. Offline- a beautifully shifting bronzey color with a translucent base. I love this one for overall darker eyeshadow looks as it compliments it will with having a deeper toned glitter. Big Energy- I would personally describe this as more of an overall rose gold color and is midway between translucent and opeque. While the base is more nude in color, the stand out glitters and shimmers read much in the direction of rose gold than anything else. Golden Coast- This is a beautiful rich coppery gold that is actually nearly opaque. This one almost has more of a "flake" than a smaller sparkle effect, making it perfect for laying a bold lid shimmer down. Diamond Girl- this one has to be my absolute favorite! Nearly translucent base with beautiful color shifting white to green-pink sparkles. This works so well as a topper for most colors and gives such beautiful ethereal vibes. She is absolutely already in my base rotation.
