Very sturdy, with thicker metal than I was expecting. It holds hair pretty snugly because the teeth interlock closer than a lot of other clips.I bought this feeling certain that it would not hold all my hair - but no clips, even much wider, more circular ones, do either. The slimness of the claw area made me think that I would just be able to pull half my hair back away from my face, which I thought would still be worth it because of the metal construction and it being much less likely that the teeth would ever break or the body would ever crack. However, as it turns out, if I make a top knot I can strategically position the clip so that it holds all my hair in place high up on my head (clipping in front of the knot). And it actually stays. I've cleaned the house with it up like that, gone on walks, even napped, and it has stayed in position better than if I put it up with rubber bands/hair bows. It gets looser over hours but has not fallen out like my other clips, ever. If you bought 2 (of these full-sized ones, not the minis) and clipped them on either side of a bun or top knot it would probably be even more secure, but as 1 is serving me fine I'm not in a rush to buy another one just yet, though I do recommend these. For reference I have thick, wavy hair that comes to about 3 inches above my elbows. And just 1 works for all my hair.I love that it came in gold and not just silver.I love that it's sturdy metal. I think the price is fully justified. This is not the cheapest clip you can buy but it is completely worth it for me.I was worried that some reviews said it was so heavy it falls out of hair but again, the teeth interlock so that it fits really snugly and securely in hair so that has not been a problem. I imagine if you had very, very thin/fine hair it might be, but then you could probably just buy the minis which would be lighter and better for holding small amounts of hair.
This clip doesn't seem to be suited for my hair type. My hair is medium-long and fine but I have a lot of hair so I've never had issues with a clip holding it before. The clip does not grasp tightly and if I wear the clip too high on my head, all my hair slips out the bottom. But since clip is not very big, if I clip it lower on my head my hair flops over awkwardly because it is too long. It also doesn't work clipped half back. It worked well when I clipped it up in a bun. So I think this clip is probably best for people with a little shorter or thicker hair than me. But it is pretty! I will also echo another reviewer that said it's nice that it lies flat against the head so it doesn't start hurting after a while.

I absolutely love this hair clip. It's so cute and can be worn casually or when I dress up. It's a large clip but not very large, it's truly the perfect size. It holds my hair very well.

I love the look of this clip and it arrived exactly as shown. It has some weight to it which is good. The thing I didn't like is it looked bigger in the picture and it's pretty small, it's about 3 inches. The clip doesn't open wide and it barely hold my curly hair. I think this would be great for short hair.

I have long, think hair so I didn't have much hope for this clip but it works SO well! Definitely way past my expectations for it! Highly recommend!!

So I have super thick, past my shoulder hair. And I've had this clip for months now and feel like it's the best one to hold my hair. The material is solid and not cheap (compare to plastic ones).

Sturdy metal clip. Only clip that has worked in my thick wavy hair. I have had this for a year now, and it still holds tight.

This is one of the best designed hair clips I've ever seen. I thought I would be excited that the material wasn't plastic and wouldn't break, but in line with other reviews, the weight of the clip is very heavy and it slides down your head.

I was looking for something to stop hair damage, like a silk pillow case or something. But I found this instead. I don't like the feeling of having my hair down but hair ties and scrunchies always pull too hard on one tiny section and I have to fix it. This clip was perfect. It's heavy and strong and the perfect size to gather up all my hair in a French twist that's tucked in nicely.

It is a pretty clip, but that is pointless when ot is too heavy and slides out of my hair no matter what I do with it.

Cute hair clip that I use daily. Stylish design allows for clip to be used when dressing up too. I have thinner hair and clip is still effective holding up my hair all day, no additional pins or product needed.

Exactly as I expected. Perfect size and grip for my thin hair.

I really wanted to love this! :/ It's alot smaller than what I thought. If you have thick hair, I don't think this will work for you. I gave it 3 stars because it's super cute and you can still use it for a half up do but if you're like me and have thick hair, I'd look for something bigger and with a better grip.

I have fairly fine hair so most jaw clips slip through and don't hold very well. this clip has just enough grip to hold but not damage and still looks classy. Buying one for my desk drawer, car, etc I love it so much!

I am wearing this hairclip right now and I haven't taken it off my head since I got it! I will probably need to buy a backup because I don't want to risk losing it :)

I need the teeth of a clip to be flat against my head. When the teeth extend beyond where they cross each other, my scalp gets very sore. It's hard to find this design where the teeth lie flat against your head. This clip is solid feeling and does a great job without hurting!

This product is great if you are like me and always break the plastic ones. It is a bit on the small side, and people with dense or curly hair might struggle to fit it in the clip.

Absolutely love this clip! Super comfortable as well as durable and holds hair in place.

This is my 2nd one of these I also have the gold. All my other hair clips fall apart but I have had my other one for at least 2 years and it looked brand new. This also has great hold my hair is very straight and silky so not all clips stay in well. I have also given this as gifts and they loved it too.

This clip does not open very wide. So I was surprised to read reviews from people with thick hair saying it works well. I have fine hair and i have a lot of it. Not thick though. This barely can get around my hair. If you are doing a half up look, then ya it would be good. This clip is metal and i think it droops because of that. Its cute and has a tight hold at first but i think since its missing inside teeth, it slips. Won't buy again but will use the one i have at home.

Clip was heavier than I thought it would be. Not sure if that would be a drawback for thin hair. For my thick hair it works great.

I LOVE this clip! It stays in place all day. The first day I wore it to work and it got to the end of the day and I looked in the mirror expecting to have to re-clip it and it was exactly in the place that I had put it on that morning. Awesome product!
