this was such a surprise

this lip oil is the best that i have tried. no joke. my bff picked this up on a whim and kept telling me how amazing it was. i loved the idea of a lip oil, but after trying the ulta brand and even Jouer, i was very underwhelmed by the lack of hydration, and didn't see how they were any more nourishi...ng than a gloss. i also haven't heard the best things about this brand's products, but her recommendations are so solid that i immediately picked this up to try it. INCREDIBLE. the texture is lovely, it is nourishing and hydrating, goes on smoothly, and just feels amazing. unfortunately, i bought the tinted version first. i thought the tint would be a light wash of a pleasant pink, but it has an almost neon hue that lingers long after the oil absorbs, which wouldn't be bad if the color wasn't so intense. i'm a lover of pink makeup, and it was even a lot on me—similar to that bright pink "pH adjusting" balm color that looks odd on almost everyone. i wasn't a huge fan of that, but i LOVED the oil itself. it instantly quenches and hydrates my lips from even their driest state. i'm reaching for some right now lol. i returned the tinted oil and picked up the untinted. i definitely don't feel like i will even try another oil, since this one is pretty much perfect. it is reasonably priced, and the thin tube is aesthetically pleasing, applies well, and fits really well in even my smallest purse. i don't have anything negative to say, but i guess the only things i would point out are that the thin viscosity makes it pretty easy to overapply it and go through it quickly (you don't need much). also, sometimes ulta keeps their stock too long, so if it smells off, it might be going stale/rancid. the pink one i bought was starting to go bad and had an off smell. the one i have now smells perfectly fine and unscented.
