Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter

I have been wanting to try this cream for a while after falling in love with its matching "shower oil." (I also used this brand's Bio-Lipid Restoring Body Lotion all summer, which is much lighter—almost watery—and also unscented.) I sprung for the body butter when it was on sale in early January. Since then, I've used it every night, and while I love how soft, dewy, and moisturized it has made my itchy, dry winter skin, I have to comment that I CANNOT stand the smell of it. I so wish it were fragrance-free like many of the other Naturium products are. Its smell is supposed to be vanilla, and I suppose that's in there, but there's a musty undercurrent to it. It smells like sick breath under the vanilla. It is unpleasant, and I apologize if that description comes across as impolite or insensitive, but this is my honest review. Initially I was going to return it, but I genuinely love its moisturizing properties: It has soothed my itchy skin in such a way that I feel I can't live without it at the moment. But I do not apply it near my face; it only gets applied waist-down, away from my nose. The texture of it is dense yet whipped, and it spreads smoothly and evenly without much rubbing. I wouldn't say that it absorbs quickly or readily; it takes about 10 minutes, and even then there's still a slight oily film on the skin, which is what gives it its intense moisturizing properties. If you have oily skin at all, I would not recommend this product! Normal skins might appreciate a light layer of it in winter but are unlikely to do so in summer. I'm sorry to say that its smell is a bit of a dealbreaker for me and I likely will not repurchase once I use up the tub—unless, of course, they change the scent profile or offer a fragrance-free version (which is really what I'd prefer).

This body butter has absolutely saved me from the dryness and tightness after showers. It moisturizes my body for the entire day. Also, the product is EWG Verified, which means you can be sure it's free of EWG's chemicals of concern and meets our strictest health standards. 👍🏽👍🏽

I like the consistency, it's a basic thick butter. I live in a very dry area with hard water and agree with all tbe reviews about the moisture. However, as a beach lover, even a coconut scent lover, this is abysmal. It's a smell similary to a coconut lotion from a holiday set at your local grocery store. I will use it up but not something I would rebuy or suggest.

This is very hydrating, and has a nice light fragrance.
