Do NOT waste your money
If you are like me and thought this would be similar to the Milani or NYX matte sprays, you will be sadly disappointed! This spray makes your face dewy!! As an oily girl this is an absolute never buy again product. I waited to see if it would set and become matte— but nope. Waste of money!

so i love the price, but i have used other matte setting sprays before and this just made my face powdery, i used no powder. it did defenitly keep my makeup on but i think im geting the NOT matte one next time
My holy grail fixing spray
This spray is sooo good! I hope Essence never discontinues it, I would be so upset! It makes my makeup last all day, and I get no shine whatsoever! It definitely dries down matte, no matter how much I put on. It's also fragrance, oil, and alcohol-free, so it's sensitive-skin friendly. Plus, the price?! It's only $5! Buy it!!!
fav setting spray
I bought all 3 of the essence fixing sprays to thry them out and this one was my absolute favorite. I work at a salon and when I use this spray, I'll still have no transference after a full day. Perf 😍 However…the sprayer on this one is not great at all. Easy fix tho since I have 2 other bottles 🤭 I just swapped the sprayer 🤷🏻♀️
Horrible spray
The formula is decent but the spray is horrible. No mist so it's like a couple sharp streams. Hurts if it hits your eye and doesn't distribute product evenly.
Unexpectedly Awesome
I NEVER, EVER thought that I would use a matte setting/fixing spray due to my naturally dry skin, but I was looking for something clean, unscented, and alcohol-free, and this was recommended by an online makeup reviewer, plus the price was right. WOW, this makes my makeup look so beautiful, and it is THE BEST drugstore setting spray that I've ever used. It doesn't "mattify" in the traditional way (aka, making the skin flat / one-dimensional) but looks extremely natural while really melting together my powders/makeup like nothing that I've used before. Both my makeup and skin just look smoother after application, and it lasts quite well during the day (even as my T-zone gets oily) and continues to feel natural. (Note: I know some setting sprays will lock makeup in place for days--this is not one of them, but I hate feeling like I'm wearing a stiff mask with those formulas, so I enjoy that this one lasts for 10-12 hours and then can be refreshed if needed). The spray nozzle produces a very fine mist, and it's easy to use and pack for travel. Also, I appreciate that the nozzle top actually unscrews---this way, when the product gets so low in the bottle that the mister doesn't work quite right, I can still save the last drops of the product and pour them into a new bottle instead of wasting the leftover liquid. Overall, this fixing spray makes a visible difference in my makeup, both in appearance and longevity, and it never makes my very sensitive skin itch or breakout. THIS ONE IS A WINNER!
