pretty product but huge learning curve with persistence

it is a beautiful shade, sheer champagne-y base and in natural light the glitter colors really shift into each other - copper being the most prominent, then soft pink, babyblue/lavender, silvery white. it's sheer enough for daytime wear which i was stoked about. i was very excited to try this produc...t, at first i swatched it on the back of my hand and it was so gorgeous and felt great so i had high hopes to try it on my eyes the following morning. my high hopes eventually morphed into frustration, which at first i thought was user error because the product worked so well on the back of my hand. for some context, my skin leans towards the dry side, as well as my eyes. the first several attempts would result in it feeling almost as tho i had little shards of glass around my eyes. it was becoming frustrating because i kept trying SO many different ways to prep/apply for using this product trying to figure out how to make it work for me. i tried doing no extra prep, just my regular skincare and moisturizer, i tried multiple different primers, both eye and face. i tried concealer, i tried eye creams, i even tried vaseline lol. i went in with the applicator with no blending, finger blending, and a handful of different types of brushes. i also tried by dotting around my eye with the applicator with same blending options. i tried applying with my finger, with different brushes. and i tried different combinations of all the above. it's taken me literal weeks of trying to finally get this product to work for me. my best, most comfortable, successful result was using the nyx marshmellow primer, applying/blending with my finger. once dried down, i go in with another layer of the primer. once the second layer is dry, i used a small angled fluffy brush to apply the tiniest, lightest veil of the lottie ready set go brightening powder, legit like barely any. then a fluffy face brush to gently do a dab or two each eye just to make sure everything is thinly and evenly set and spread. only then i go in with the product applicator, softly swipe, and blend by finger tapping. i personally wouldn't recommend this for people who have dry and/or sensitive skin/eyes who have little/very basic makeup skills and don't have the time/patience to make a nearly $30 product work. fortunately, i have patience almost to a fault, and also i received this product for free from MAC for testing and review purposes.
