- Before styling, ensure hair is detangled and dry. For best results, section hair.
- Begin at a low heat (330°F) and adjust depending on your hair type and texture.
- Style with a loose grip. The flexing plates shape to gather your hair, so you can loosen your grip when styling, letting the machine do the work for you. Avoid gripping too hard which may cause snagging.
- Flexing plates allow you to style hair in fewer passes, so go slowly over sections. Styling speed may vary by hair type.
- For a smooth glide, try styling the roots and mid-lengths of hair first, and style the ends last so you can take larger sections of hair. This allows the flexing plates to fully gather the section of hair.
- To curl and wave, clamp the section of hair and rotate the iron one full turn (for curls) or half turn (for softer waves).

I finally decided with the great deal that they have to get a Dyson. I have never previously wanted to get a dryer that is that spendy. I have dry, frizzy, curly hair, just for reference. I appreciate the fact that this is certainly lightweight, and definitely lighter than any other dryer I have had. Because of the way the cord is with the big power pack, it is very awkward to try to use it in the particular set up I have in my bathroom due to where the plugs are. Awkward. It definitely dries the hair a little more quickly than the others, but that's where it stops. I did not see that great of a blowout for me at all. It did not make my hair less frizzy, it did not make it straighter, and didn't do anything that was any better than the dryers I have or have had for half the price less than that. My GHD & T3 are preferable, especially for the price.
Do not waste your money
Do not waste your money at all. Stops working after 3 years. I called Dyson support and they basically said that they can do nothing about it and offered that I buy a refurbished machine. Given the price you would atleast expect for them to offer repairs!!
Quick Results
I've had the old style Dyson hair dryer since it was originally released and it served me very well until this year it started acting up and I just knew its time was coming to an end. I went to Ulta to see if they had the "Supersonic r" and of course they did! I diffuse my long, curly hair while it's very wet and this usually takes much time and patience; however, with the new Dyson I'm thinking this process' time was cut by at least 25%… I was pleasantly surprised. For me, it was money WELL spent!
I love mine
im not sure what happened to all of these reviews but I own all of the dyson hair tools and this is by far my favorite. my hair always looks amazing and its cordless- the battery comes with a charger. I just leave the charger plugged in and set it on its charging stand. I love that I can walk around the hose regulating the kids while I do my hair lol for me its a 5 star. Had it for over a year now
