Is this a gluten free product?

But read on, because if you're asking this question, there's more you should know. *cue ‘90's music from NBC* We don't actively market our products as gluten-free, primarily because we believe this can be confusing. There are a number of myths surrounding the impact of gluten in personal care vs. food. According to the Mayo Clinic, shampoos and conditioners that contain gluten would need to be swallowed or come into contact with an open wound for someone with Celiac disease to react. This is even true for different types of dermatitis that can arise from Celiac, but still it is required that the gluten be ingested vs. topically applied (with the exception of things like lipstick where you'd easily ingest product or application on or near a wound). So if you're gluten-intolerant or have Celiac disease, it's worth talking to your allergist or doctor about your personal care needs. Used to be great until a formula change
Ive purchased this brand several times since spring 2025 and was having incredible hair days but recently my wash day will not last longer than 12 hours. I wake up and take off a satin bonnet and my hair looks like trash, its frizzy, dry, and oily at the same time? It unfortunately seems like others have the same issue.
Terrible Shampoo
This shampoo did not clean my hair at all. My hair is more dirty after I use this! I have wavy hair, and this leaves a residue on top of my not cleaned hair making it stringy and gross. I would rather use bar soap on my hair than this, it would work better! The scent is kinda strange and doesn't mix well with the mousse I use. My hair ends up smelling like a dirty wet dog. I used the travel size of this and I'm glad I didn't have a big bottle to go through.

Not buying it again - leaves a residue on my hair
Hair Type Straight Hair
I have long, dense but fine hair. I saw many reviews and bought it to try but after the fist time I immediately knew I was not buying it again. My hair feels dirty, it feels like there's a residue weighing it down and when I run my hands through my hair, my hands end up feeling full of that residue. I will be going back to the Ouai Detox shampoo.
A year review
I have used rhis product for a year. I bought it on a whim. I have type 4 hair that can become dry. I use this shampoo weekly and follow up with a moisturize shampoo. If I this product only, my hair does not feel stripped. I love it doesn't have a smell.
