Too many issues, too little benefit

Overall I am not a fan of this brightening powder. The color I received was rose quartz 02, which does perfectly match my skin tone so that is a plus. But otherwise I don't see it doing much of anything. The box labels it as a brightening, blurring and finishing powder. I don't really see any signs ...of instant brightening that is claimed and I only see maybe a little bit of blurring some of my pores. But even that is only really noticeable on parts of my face that tend to be oilier than others, like on my nose. But it is not enough overall to make me want to add it to my supply or replace something else. Especially given the other issues, with the compact itself. The first is it is a thick plastic, that looks cheap and makes me think of one those kids makeup kits. The only good thing being is that it does latch close tightly so you are unlikely to have it accidentally open. The next issue is with the mirror, first being that it looks sort of poorly inlaid into the compact like someone just stuck glue on a mirror and put it in. I feel like with little effort I could pop it out. The mirror also has the brand name in bold black on the bottom edge of the mirror. Which is just extremely annoying, especially if you are out and can only use that mirror. It is a small mirror so it is very easy for your eyes to focus on the text over your face when trying to apply it. The next issue is the applicator pad it comes with. Personally I would throw it away and replace it with your own or a different brush. The back is a leather or fake leather like material, with the brand name on it. The biggest issue is unlike a lot of puffs that are soft and easily flexible, with the puff part covering the sides, this has none of that. The edge is sharpness from the leathery plastic it is made of. Which while applying don't expect any precision while trying to apply near the edge, it will hurt and felt like I could potentially give myself something like a paper cut on my face with it. The corners are also hard and it is very easy to have them accidentally gouge into the powder block. I just don't see enough benefit with this product to justify recommending it. Maybe other people with different skin types will see more benefit, but I would see if you can test it in store first before buying it.
