New vegan formula!

I have tried this product before and after the 2025 vegan reformulation. I like the new formula and continue to purchase it.The prior version was somewhat "unguent" (by which I mean almost sticky but in a greasy way) and near-HG for my chronically dry, peely lips.The current iteration is a... very good medium weight balm with an elegantly smooth formulation. It provides medium weight protection that can be built up for more cushion.I need to reapply every couple hours or so during the day, and wearing it overnight can leave a lingering effect on my lips when I wake up, but rarely any noticeable product.I don 't notice much of a pale cast or cloudiness when I build it up, but my lips are not highly pigmented and I usually do this at bedtime, so may not notice.I was pleased to learn the lip balm had gone vegan since it seemed to me it was the last remaining (the only ever?) non-vegan SdJ product.For me, knowing everything is vegan makes the shopping experience more relaxing and fun. It rounds out the sense of cohesive brand identity and allows for even more consistent expectations. As with the new, more forward-looking graphic design, the ability to claim an all-vegan product lineup feels like a bold step in the right direction for SdJ as the central conflict regarding visual identity and environmental impact continue to inspire a little "well, this is awkward" now and then. (Those iconic lids. )Lip balm refills similar to the Rio Deo ones seem highly unlikely at this point, as they may have been considered for the transition and determined to not be feasible, but I would LOVE to see it since one of my Favorite things about Sol de Janiero is THE REFILLS (especially the Bum Bum Cream -- high impact!)The actual packaging for the reformulation has lost some bulk, and that seems like an improvement. The bottom edge is rounded off, and the tube itself is shorter while purporting to contain as much as before. No product shrinkage sneaking in.The only change I disagree with is changing the name of the scent from "Doce de Leite" to "Caramelized Vanilla. " In my opinion (potential confusion around "leite" and "vegan" aside), it is a disappointingly BORING CHANGE, one that seems to unnecessarily de-differentiate it from other brands and almost appears to betray a well-informed confidence in the idea that there is clear benefit to using "simpler" words and concepts over ones that align with the brand 's unique identity.Probably just chasing younger customers, but it kind of feels like "dumbing something down. "
