When I first sprayed this, I had a completely different idea of how it would smell. But after experiencing it, I can understand why the brand took a different approach in redefining what a "vacation scent" could be. Grand Cuvée by Vacation offers something unique, and while I appreciate the creativi...ty behind it, it's not a fragrance I see myself reaching for often.The scent leans heavily into an autumn/winter profile—woody, warm, and anchored by a strong amber base. It actually matches my body chemistry quite well, but I don't particularly enjoy how it smells on me. It's also fairly strong for a body mist—noticeably more intense than others I've tried—but not overwhelming. I'd say it holds its own presence without being overbearing.On first spray, I picked up the amber right away, which I love, but it was accompanied by an odd twist that reminded me of pencil shavings. That note stuck around for about five minutes before mellowing out. After that, the fragrance evolved into a rich, woody scent with a lingering amber warmth—definitely something I associate more with colder months. It felt a bit too heavy for spring or summer. Vanilla is listed as one of the notes, and I was hoping for a more prominent presence, but it only emerged faintly about two hours in. Interestingly, I found myself enjoying the scent much more after the three-hour mark—it softened into a cozy, skin-hugging fragrance that felt far more wearable than the opening.The notes include: argan, amber, chardonnay, cedarwood, vanilla bean, cognac, peach eau de vie, sunwashed sails, sunkissed skin, and sabered champagne cork.Some of these notes—like "sunwashed sails" and "sunkissed skin"—feel a bit abstract. While I get the artistic direction, I would have appreciated a clearer breakdown of what those actually smell like. For instance, I've smelled salty, briny sails before—not the most pleasant memory—and "sunkissed skin" is highly subjective, varying from person to person.A Few Other Pointers:Sillage: 7/10 — Definitely not a quiet scent. It holds a steady presence.Longevity: 8/10 — Lasts around 6 hours. I didn't love the opening and even considered washing it off, but I'm glad I didn't.
