How does this brighten exactly? Which ingredient(s) do this? I don't see any pigments. Is there something I'm missing? Or is the claim that this product "detoxifies" and therefore brightens?

The Blonde Life Brightening Collection does detoxify the environmental buildup, buildup from minerals in water, and buildup for products, which can make blonde hair dull. The Blonde Life Collection helps combat all of that to keep blondes bright and nourished. Is this product and the companion shampoo Gluter Free?

We do not add gluten containing ingredients to the Blonde Life Brightening Collection, but since they are manufactured in a facility where gluten is present, we would not be able to state it is gluten free, because of possible cross contamination. I'm trying to get back to an icy blonde, but some purple shampoos wreck your color (I don't mean turn it purple, I mean make some strands/sections brassy or turn your hair dark gray...) and other purple shampoos dry out your hair -- severely. I read the reviews before I bought this, and I wish I'd listened to the person who said this coats your hair in wax, enabling your comb to slip through, instead of actually nourishing/moisturizing your hair. Seriously: Don't buy this.
