HALF MAGIC Beam Trap Skin Illuminating Balm

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I've never really had an urge to try a product of this kind since I usually achieve a dewy look with either a dewy foundation or highlighter. However, when I received the Beam Trap Skin Illuminating Balm from Half Magic for free to try in exchange for my honest opinion, I was very curious as to how would a balm make my skin look since I've never used one before on my skin. I was pleasantly surprised I must say. I applied it over my makeup as it makes more sense to me to do it over rather than under makeup. There is zero scent, which I love and it feels very lightweight. I was afraid it would be sticky but it's not at all. I use the lighter shade more often since I'm very light skinned, while the darker shade I use on occasion to add more accent to my cheekbones like the bronzer does. I also used it a few times with no foundation to achieve the natural glowy no makeup look and I liked it. The only downside is the packaging - I'm not fan of the paper packaging (as well as the color) as I think it won't last long. It might be good for sustainability but again, just like paper straws - it'll either rip or become flimsy very quickly in my opinion. Other than that I loved the product.

The shades are subtle yet give such a fresh, dewy finish which is perfect for light makeup days. The balm melts into my skin effortlessly and I like that I can wear the shades separately or blend them together for a custom color. I used my fingers to apply both shades and it worked well for me. The outer packaging is eye catching with intricate details and a bold pop of neon lime green that really sets it apart. While I truly appreciate the brand's eco-friendly approach, the cardboard compact ripped by my second use, making it impossible to close properly and inconvenient for storage or travel. I'd love to see this product housed in a sturdier component to match the quality of what's inside. I received this product complimentary for testing, but all opinions are my own.

The balm is nice for a natural pop os color on your cheeks and eyelids. It gives a nice natural glow. The dew lock spray leaves your skin looking like glass. It's very nice!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Loved the product, I absolutely loved the sustainable packaging. Of the two two shades I wasn't the biggest fan of the lighter shade I have tan skin with red yellow undertones and I didn't think it was pigmented enough to show up on my skin but the darker shade was stunning. The product felt beautiful, silky and absolutely buttery and the application was seamlessly. I did use the darker shade as a eyeshadow and it was absolutely stunning! We love a multipurpose product!
