If you have fine, pin straight hair like me, especially if it's long, I don't think this product will do much more for you then make your hair dry and hard to detangle. info about me for reference: natural (mostly 2a/b) waves with the occasional rogue curl, medium porosity, fine/medium diameter, not dyed or chemically treated. i also prefer a less defined look. before i tried this product out, i used the kristin ess sea salt air dry mousse and i loved it thoroughly. right as i got done with my last bottle of that, i had found out that NYM was making virtually the same product except slightly cheaper and with UV/heat protection. i had to give this a shot! this product gives the texture you'd want from NYM's texturizing sprays, but it's way more forgiving if you accidentally use a little too much. if you struggle with the sprays but still want extra texture, i would totally recommend this. also i love the scent. you can't go wrong with a little coconut and vanilla :) i first bought this product back in august 2025. for reference, i live in NJ and am **very** outdoors during summer, where it is typically very hot and pretty humid. this foam worked excellently for me back then. now, however, as i'm typing this, it's almost december. i'm still outside a lot, except now it's really cold and dry out. i've been noticing this foam has been having a slight, but not overwhelming drying effect on me lately. i have used the kristin ess mousse during winter before and did not have this happen to me. combine that with this product's emphasis on the UV/heat protection aspect, honestly it kinda makes sense to me that this product would work better during summer. i like to think this foam was made specifically with "beach babes" in mind because of that, lol

I saw the reviews and wanted to see if it could work on my straight frizzy hair thinking I might have small waves and both times i tried to use it, it left my hair rough and hard to comb through. Im not sure if its because i have previously dyed hair or if im missing something. But i don't recommend for straight hair

Pair it with a light leave-in conditioner spray and you will have beautiful soft waves!

I wanna first of say I've never been a fan of mousse. As q very curly haired girl, I felt mousse never really did much, but I was wrong! This mousse makes my curls look effortless and bouncy. It has little to no scent so if you don't like scents this is perfect for you compared to most others. I scrunch this into my curls in sections as the last step in my routine & it leaves them looking beach ready all day long! The packaging is simple and the formula is lightweight and not heavy at all. Whether you have curls, coils, or waves this mousse is the one to reach for! 100% would recommend and as the title states it is my new staple!
