I received a sample of this with my last order and used it all up. I have never used retinol before and was honestly timid to start because I wanted to make sure I chose the right product. After this sample, I liked how well my skin absorbed it and felt after application. I feel like this product is the perfect starting point for retinol use. I'm buying the full size and hopefully it works as well as the sample did!

I did some research and found that the Farmacy retinol serum was what I should start with because of the encapsulated retinol. I also liked the ingredients list---this formulation is really good. I plan to repurchase. I've heard experts say to start with a lower percentage but this seems to work for me. I started out 1-2x a week and then increased it after that. I have been using it for about 4-5 weeks. That said, I would have given this five stars but there is an oil in the formula that makes it smell like it is rancid. I do not know which oil could go rancid in the bottle or maybe that is the scent of the product. I haven't had a reaction (yet) but if this is a problem, something should be done. I would hate for the formula to change but I want stable ingredients.
