I have loved Cinnabar ever since the first day our paths crossed back in 1980. I thought I met heaven on earth and I was right. Cinnabar is a beautiful and strong fragrance. A little goes a very long way. Because of this, I only wear it in the fall and winter and when I apply it, I spray it up in the air and then step under it to catch the mist. The scent is incredible and unique. I have never experienced anything else even close to this scent. I have gotten so many compliments on this fragrance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the dusting powder, soap, and body lotion! They were all so amazing!!!
I have been wearing Cinnabar for over 30 years, since high school. It was often the only fragrance I owned - no need for anything else. I've never worn anything that people complimented more. Even others that wore Cinnabar said it smelled better on me. I recently needed to restock. I wasn't thrilled with the new bottle design, and was heartbroken to discover it didn't smell the same either. It's flatter and less spicy. There is a slight, weird, sour, citrusy scent I never noticed before. It doesn't last like it used to. The scent gets weirder as it wears. Not only does it not smell like Cinnabar, it doesn't smell good on me at all. Even my husband and son are telling me I don't smell like me. Please, please bring it back.

For some strange reason Estee decided to lighten the scent. It smells nothing like the original cinnabar. Please bring back the original scent! I bought this thinking it was the original scent only to be disappointed with the change they made. What a waste.

I love this fragrance, Cinnabar, but unfortunately mine was finished. With covid19 restrictions, I couldn't go to my regular store to purchase. I figured that buying from the source would ensure I was receiving the true fragrance. Although, I read some of the reviews that the fragrance was changed, I thought they must be wrong. They weren't!!! What have you done? The scent is barely discernible after first spraying it. No richness at all. Obviously, there is no lasting quality. I am beyond disappointed. I will never by another Estée Lauder product again. The product is different. Someone at your company needs to dig out an older version and compare it to the current one you're selling. If it's not the recipe that's changed, then check your production of it. Please!!!

I have a couple of bottles of the older formulation. This new one is lacking.
However, I still wear it.
Used to be the best scent I'm the market from Greensboro NC
Cinnabar had been my favorite "go to" fragrance x years. The last bottle I purchased I assumed was a fluke. Nothing like the original I'd worn for many decades. Took it back to the store at the mall along with my bottle. Salesperson told me there'd been no formulation change. I invited her to compare. Several other customers did the comparison sniff test as well. Everyone could smell the difference and everyone (except the saleswoman) felt there was a major and "not for the better" alteration to the formula of this scent. I'd love to hear a response from customer service, but I'd far rather be provided with a means for ordering my beloved original Cinnabar again. It's absence from my life is a very sad and very missed item. Thank you for your attention to my concerns. Much appreciation for your investigation and reply to my post about my concerns. Thank you.

I love Cinnabar! I wear this everyday and it's gotten me some compliments. I'm a man and I think any gender could wear this well. Cinnabar reminds me of fresh, clean laundry and spicy potpourri. It's an addictive fragrance. It's very heady, opulent, and cloying. If you like Youth Dew, you'll love Cinnabar. I spray it on my pulse points, neck, and sternum. On a cold day, it's fragrance wraps around me like a luxurious fur coat and everyone wants to get a whiff of me. This is a very sexy fragrance for a man to wear. It's an ideal alternative for a guy who likes to be unique and mysterious.

I recently returned to this scent after many years. Happy to say it's just as I remembered! I've read other reviews that complain that the scent has changed but that's not the case for me. This will be my fall and winter go to scent. I've been wearing it non stop since purchasing!

I used to get the complete sets every year. Once upon a time there used to be Cinnabar powder, and a very fragrant lotion. Was there a candle too at one time? Loved it. If it's a great thing, don't change it.
I only buy the cologne now ( or get it as a gift) because the lotion lost it scent. It's been years since I bought the newest lotion bottle. Has the lotion formula returned since the frosted glass with the red pump? I hate the hassle of online returning, so I just don't bother buying in the "gift set".

i fell in love with Cinnabar in the late 70s and bought it as often as i could afford. i hadn't used it in several years and then had enough money recently to splurge on a bottle and i am not happy!! yes they keep saying it's the same "juice" and that may be but it is also watered down. i went searching for a vintage bottle and found one online and that was the scent i knew and loved. you can even see the difference in the color. Cinnabar was dark and it no longer is. the scent was strong and warm and spicy, it no longer is. i would be willing to pay more for the original and i did pay A LOT for the vintage bottle i bought. it seems like a billion dollar company would not be watering down their fragrances! it really makes me question the integrity of este lauder and that's something that is very important to me when i'm a customer. and from all the reviews here you cannot tell me that we are all imaging that our beloved fragrance has been changed. do what's right and bring back the original formula!! this is NOT ok!

I went into a Department Store where I looked someone to even
Come over to the Estee Lauder counter. When they did there were two lady who never even heard of cinnabar. When I spread the sample. It smelled old and not even good. Nothing like I remembered. Someone said oh it never changed so I thought that I would wear it for a while. It was worst dried down. Mann! Y'all ruined it breaks my heart 💔...
They say that it never changed but something happened. It's not
Sweet and spicy like I remembered. It old and synthetic
And nauseous. Please let me know when you fix it. I guess I will look for the older version or just find a new favorite 😢.

I have been using Cinnabar for years, alternating it with Beautiful and Pleasures; however, the last bottle or two that I got had a significant difference in the way it smells on me. It's not the old Cinnabar and now I see why. I had always gotten compliments on how good the Cinnabar smelled when I wore it. I don't hear that much anymore and I see the formula has changed. I strongly suspect that Estee Lauder is trying to get rid of us "old dogs" who still use it by forcing us to another fragrance. It must not be a big seller among the younger population, or the other support products would still be available. I always have to ask for Cinnabar because it's hidden at most of the retailers that I frequent as well. Too bad, my Estee Lauder experience is coming to an end after nearly 50 years.

What ever you say will not help .. It is not the same well-known and beloved perfume .. Very disappointing that I can't find the good old version of the perfume.
Diane from Spokane WA
They have changed my beloved Cinnebar. Only perfume I have worn for over 30 years. I used to get compliments consistantly and only used a little on my temples it was so awesome. Now, it fades away quickly, it is not the same no matter what you say. Listen to the consumer and bring back the original formula. You are going to lose a lot of customers doing this. My one question is . Who on earth thought this would be a good idea to change the formula that has worked for decades. I am so disappointed Thanks

If you enjoy the Estee Lauder line of fragrance as long as I have, you will be thrilled with Cinnabar.
The fragrance, when sprayed, is a light, spicy/sweet that may remind you of opening a cinnamon jar for the first time and getting a note of jasmine flower. As it settles, you will begin to smell the subtle notes of Patchouli (not your hippy patchouli; this is the real thing), as the Orange begins to surface. The Orange becomes the prominent scent along with a layer of Lily/Vanila.
This is not something you would want to spray direct as it has a heavy note. It is not a light as Beautiful.

I have used Cinnibar since 1990 and I always loved it. I also always received compliments about it, and people wanted to know what perfume I was wearing. The last bottle I purchased was completely different, and was a big disappointment. Something has been changed with the formula for Cinnibar, because it doesn't smell at all the same. Now, it doesn't smell like any specific scent, and the scent doesn't last after I put it on. Your company needs to check the formulation of this perfume, and go back to what it was before. I know I won't be buying it and neither will my friends, until it goes back to it's original scent. I have been a loyal Estee Lauder customer since 1970, starting with Youth Dew, so I hope you are able to correct this problem.
GeorgeLynn from Bakersfield CA
Buyer beware this is poor imitation of an iconic fragrance from the 1970s. I'm so disappointed as this was one of my favorite fragrances during the 70s. I had bought from Neiman Marcus along with Estée and Aliage and NONE of them smelled like the originals, nor are they bottled the same. All three fragrances come in a generic looking bottle. Unfortunately, I discovered this after the return time frame had expired.

I have been wearing this for years. It is a fantastic Fall and Winter fragrance.
Mee Mee from Prairieville, Louisiana
I have been wearing Cinnabar for years. It is my signature winter scent. I get loads of compliments every time I wear it. When men hug me they always breathe me in and tell me how great I smell. A little goes a long way, so for the price a bottle lasts a long time.
jaemy from Wisconsin
This has always been my favorite parfume. Ive been wearing it for over 20 yrs. I do try others from time to time for something new and different but will never be without cinnabar. The smell is spicy....sexy. lasts all day. Always get compliments when i wear it. Love!

Loved Cinnabar over 30 years ago. Still a very romantic, sensual fragrance. Brings back lots of memories and making new ones!
MH from Dayton, OH
Estee Lauder, you should own up to the change made to Cinnabar. Like many other loyal customers I have worn this fragrance for decades. You changed the "juices" when you re-branded the bottle. It does not smell or wear like it once did. This has been my most favorite Estee Lauder fragrance so you can imagine the disappointment. Please bring back the old "juju" so all of us long time users are happy and once again wearing the EL fragrance with pride.

I've been using Cinnabar since it first came out and have always loved it.I haven't had any for about 3yrs. and was just about to treat myself for Christmas.I'm very sorry to read everyone's reviews.Cologne is a luxury purchase for me these days and I won't spend my money on it now.I too received many compliments when wearing Cinnabar and it made me feel good to wear it.So sensuous. Now I have to find a new fragrance!
Merlin from Hesperia, Ca
I used Cinnabar years ago and loved it. Had not been able to find it in a long time. Saw it here online and decided to buy again. Unfortunately this is not the same as the old Cinnabar. Not really comparable at all. I was very disappointed. It is not spicy and rich like the older version. This one actually gives me a headache. Wish they hadn't changed this.
June Bug from Richmond Texas
I have used this for several years and love it. I wear it often in the fall and Christmas season, in particular.
Renee from Cullman, Al
I recently purchased Cinnabar. This is not the original formulation of Cinnabar. I first used Cinnabar in 1979, and used it for the next decade or so. It was my signature fragrance. I met my future husband while wearing this fragrance, and it has always been his favorite of all the fragrances that i've worn over the years. After purchasing this new bottle, he agreed that this was not the Cinnabar, that we knew. This new formulation smells more like Youth Dew, which I never really care for, as it always reminded me of bath oil. Please stop trying to pass this new formulation off as the old, it is not. Cinnabar was a big deal for Estee Lauder when it was released, I doubt she would be pleased to know that her company has changed the original formulation, and that they are trying to pass it off as the old. The sense of smell is so tied to people's memories. In changing the formulation and passing it off as the old, you are toying with people's memories. How dare you? Bring back the old formulation, let customer's know that you have reverted to the old formula and I'm sure you will see a resurgence in sells.
