Most Helpful Positive Review Love this tool!
Omg this curling iron is the COOLEST thing ever. It's very easy to use and creates awesome beachy waves. The only con is that I accidentally ordered the 1 inch instead of 1.25 but I'm going to keep it anyway because I love the curls it gives me.

I would NOT recommend this iron for people with longer than shoulder length hair. It has a major design flaw in that it snags and catches the hair at the ends between the rotating barrel and the handle. My ends are FRIED after one use...and yes, I followed the directions perfectly. My hair is just too long for this to work.

I love the way this makes my hair feel. So many tools make my hair feel stiff and burnt, but after this tool, my hair feels soft and touchable. If you have frizzy hair, your hair can get caught, but I can easily twist the iron with one hand and with the other keep hair from getting caught. As for fine hair, take a bigger section of hair. I have fine to normal hair, but if my section of hair was too small, the clamp wouldn't hold. When I had a bigger section of hair, it would hold. I believe it's to protect your hair from being damaged. I would definitely recommend giving this a try.

Not for long hair! My hair got caught at the bottom of the iron so many times I gave up and returned it. Sucks because I wanted to love it.

This product is definitely a good buy, the curls stayed for couple days and I loved it
Not for fine hair
Emily from Pittsburgh
If you have fine hair and don't want to curl half your head just so the clip can hold your hair, then don't get this. I used it a few times...clean hair, dirty hair, hair with product... nothing helped. I also watched videos like the other reviews suggested. Just wasn't for me which is sad because I so badly wanted to love this!

I am in love with this curling iron. It gives my curls life, which in turn gives me life with the beautiful end result every time! At first, it took some getting used to as the barrel on this is what rotates, so you can't just rotate the whole iron to wrap the hair around the barrel to create the curl. The heat range on this curler, I would say, is normal. I typically have it at 380°F or 400°F for my hair. Currently, I have an asymmetric bob with an undercut hair style, and can curl my hair in 15 minutes. The different types of curls that I can do with this is great. I'm glad I took the chance and bought this. I am thinking of purchasing the 1" curling iron too because of how much I love it. I also have a few other Drybar products and love that it all matches. For reference, I have dark, Asian, thick hair that grows and grows.
Watch videos and practice!
Alexa from East Gate
This is my new favorite iron. It's not a traditional iron with a clamp though - so you need to change your technique. Watch videos BEFORE trying and it's much easier to get the hang of. Absolutely worth the price!!!
Makes the perfect beach waves 😍

Creates beautiful curls, fast and easy to use once you get the hang of it. I definitely recommend watching videos and practicing but once you get the hang of it you will love this tool!!
WORTH EVERY PENNY
Bink from Sarasota, fl
Hands down the best hot tool when it comes to making beach waves as well as soft curls! I worked at DryBar over 6 years ago now and I still use the 1" and 1 1/4" Bender on all my clients, as well as myself. The first 3-Day Bender I had (6 years ago) finally died after *5* years of every day clients, I only do weddings and blowouts, so constant use 6 days a week. Truly an awesome hot tool to add to your arsenal. I hope they never ever get rid of this styling tool because it's literally all I use!
Absolutely love it!!!
Christina from Noblesville
Took a few tries to get accustomed to the design but after successfully mastering it, I love it!! You do have to be cautious as hair can get snagged but that's a given with any type of rotating device. Curls look awesome for 12+ hrs. I'm not a master yet at sleeping in then as my hair is extra oily and will not hold curls overnight even with dry shampoo and additional products.
Great curling iron

Heats up fast. Provides great curls. I do recommend watching videos on the product before using as it works different than a traditional curling iron
Good curls, clamp won't hold
Kim from New York
For the price I paid I expected something a little better. The clamp is terrible. I had to try and have it hold time and time again. I did like the curls I ended up with but it's too much time and aggravation to keep attempting the same spot over and over. I'm returning it tomorrow for something else.
Waste of money
Anais from KS
Bought this to add controlled curls to my hair.watched multiple videos on YouTube. The thing does not work. I have it on the highest heat setting. It does not even remotely add a curl. My hair is not that long, and it gets all tangled in the tool. Utter garbage.
Awesome-IF You Know How To Use It
MarchGirl73 from RI
I've loved Drybar for many years. I remember when the 3 Day Bender didn't have a full clamp! I had that version & returned it, too. This newer version is so much better-IF you learn how to properly use it. Watch YouTube, there are tons of great videos on it. Check out home shopping channels for videos on this tool. So does Ulta! I have long-ish hair & this tool is great for me. Fast, consistent heat. Love the super long cord! Practice using WITHOUT HEAT! Clamp hair closer to mid-barrel & hold out your ends until you get hang of it.
This iron ruined my hair
Burnt hair from New York
I has this used on me at a salon after a cut. My hair was only slightly dry from summer sun and beach but completely manageable, even the stylist commented how healthy my hair still is.
She used this on me and my hair is now a permanent mess. I noticed it was hard and crispy after she curled it but I assumed it was spray she put in. It was turning gummy on the next wash and I KNEW it was ruined. Since using the iron I've had to get professional conditioning treatments but my hair is still completely damaged and will just need to grow out.
I can hardly comb it after wash and it is like straw.
Blew up in my hand
Dawn from NJ
As I was curling my daughters hair my curling iron blew up in my hand scaring her and leaving black on my hand. I have never had this issue with any of my curling irons so I was shocked. For what I spent on this iron this shouldn't have happened. So dangerous.
HUGE DESIGN FLAW - NEED MORE TIME IN R&D
QueenE from Denver, Co
First, the pro, and yes, there is only one. This curling iron can create beautiful, long-lasting curls. Ulta had a Drybar rep onsite when I visited the store and she demonstrated the 3-Day Bender on my hair. I loved the result and was immediately sold. However, I quickly learned it is horribly designed. The open area below the clamp has a sizable gap and it's extremely easy to get hair snagged around it and caught in the hand-rotating mechanism. It happened the first time I used it, and even though I took extra care while attempting the next three curls, it happened twice again. I lost so much hair and burned the tangled-up part I couldn't quickly free from the iron. If you have fine, shoulder-length hair like mine, or longer, it's inevitable you'll run into problems unless you pay EXTREMELY close attention and care to keep your hair far, far away from the bottom of the barrel (pardon the pun). In fact, I remember the Drybar rep snagged my hair twice and told a co-worker, "Ours is different, you need to keep the hair at the top of the iron." Being a huge Drybar fan, with a heavy heart, I returned the curling iron the next day.
Not for the long haired
Elena from Somewhere I wish I wasn't
This is not for someone who wants traditional curls. Not sure what it's supposed to do really aside from pull my. Hair goes flat no curl stays. The clamp doesn't hold hair in place while turning/spinning
Em from Charlotte, NC
This has to be the worst curling iron I've ever attempted to use. Returning after one use. Design flaw causes all hair to get caught in the bottom and pull out. Almost burned a section off because so much go caught I could barely get it off in time. Stay far away.
