I have naturally thick, wavy hair and have always preferred to air dry over using a blow dryer. Every time I'd use a blow dryer, my hair would get so frizzy and fuzzy, no matter what heat protector I used. I've tried multiple times using different brushes and I'd always end up with the same results. I also should mention that I have weak muscles and problems with my nerves so standing for 30-45 minutes to fail at a blow out is nothing but a waste of time. I've been hearing about the hot air brushes from Revlon and John Frieda for over a year and have been wanting one so bad! So this year, I decided to buy myself one for my birthday!
Sadly, my local Ulta was sold out of the Revlon One-Step Volumizer and obviously didn't carry the John Frieda Volume Shine. I didn't want to wait to order either so I started looking at the Bed Head Blow Out Freak. It's the same price as the one by Revlon and seemed pretty similar. However, I felt unsure so I asked for help. I'm so glad I did, I was lead to the hot air brushes and was enthusiastically recommended either the Revlon or this one. As I said, they were sold out of the former, so I decided to get the latter. It was about $15 more, which kind of set me off from it. But with the "real talk" the sales woman had with me, she had me sold.
I LOVE this tool. I can easily and confidently create a smooth blow out with so pain or strain!
Most Helpful Critical Review Honest Review - Didn't meet expectations
I purchased this cautiously optimistic from the hundreds of reviews I read and online YouTube videos I watched. I was hoping that this could be that magic tool to finally calm my wavy, frizzy hair. This arrived today and here's my experience. First my hair type is blonde, shoulder-length, frizzy and wavy and is colored every 8-12 weeks. I used DreamCoat spray and Caviar blowout creme to help with the frizz and was hopeful this combination in addition to this styling dryer would give me the straight, frizz-free results so many others had.
I sectioned my hair and after a couple of minutes I noticed how unbelievably hot this dryer gets. This dryer is more of an oval shape than the circular shape I expected. I had this set on the highest setting to get the straight results I wanted. This dryer has hot air blowing fiercely all over the barrel. My bathroom is small and doesn't have windows and I had to have the door open and a fan on in addition to the air conditioning it became that hot. The hot air blew against my face when drying the sides of my hair and it was uncomfortable. I stopped partway through just to be able to cool down. Also, this dryer is huge, almost too big. My hair is shoulder length and this dryer felt too large for my hair. It was difficult to get to the roots of my hair because this dryer was that large. It is also very uncomfortable to hold for long period of time. I noticed when I set it down after a few minutes to answer a text, my hand was numb from holding it and it was difficult to move my fingers to text my daughter back. That feeling eventually went away. As a result, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has hand or wrist issues. It was also difficult for me to dry the back of my hair because this dryer was so large and I had trouble due to its size getting close enough to the roots in the back of my head and after I finished I realized there were parts still not dry. I still had to go over my hair with my straightener.

I'm pretty lazy with my hair, but since it is naturally wavy and frizzy I need to make a little effort. I used to use a blow dryer and round brush and while it comes out fine, sometimes the effort required was a lot (especially during work from home - I just can't be bothered). This has made my life so simple. It definitely cuts down on the dry time and I get the same result as I would with round brush and regular dryer but with less effort. What can I say? Lazy girl life.
DEFINITELY the perfect dryer.

I have very thick hair and have generally given up on blow drying my hair due to the time, and awkwardness of putting the dryer down to section off pieces of hair, holding dryer in one hand brush in another only to wonder how the heck a hairstylist gets your hair so smooth and perfect especially when you're using the same tools. NO MORE with this dryer. My hair literally took no more than 5 minutes to dry, and the brush is attached so your able to get your hair sections with your free hand.
Better than I anticipated

I wasn't expecting such great results! Usually when I give myself blow outs I have flyaways and puffiness. I was a little nervous with the size of the dryer but it was so easy to use. My hair came out sooo soft and shiny! So glad I went w this one over the dry bar and revlon!

I am not a person that knows how to style my hair. My every day style is a ponytail lol. This makes blow drying my hair SO easy. I absolutely love it. Very easy to use and doesn't make my arms tired like a normal blow dryer.

Bought this product after seeing lots of similar products on social media. After doing some research, decided to try this one as I have other tools from Hot Tools and love them. This brush dryer did not disappoint! I have medium length fine hair. Dried in about 10 minutes, gave great volume to my limp hair, hair was silky and shiny without feeling damaged by the heat. I have recommended this to my sisters and best friend. Definitely would buy again!
One and done!

This hair dryer and brush all-in-one is amazing! My daughter stole my first one so I had to buy another for myself. She took it back with her to school in Gainesville and now her roommates are raving about it. A must buy! It's easy to blow out my hair and leaves it shiny and full of body. No need to fuss with a brush and dryer at the same time. The settings are perfect for blowing at high or lower heated air. LOOOOVE IT!!!

I used this for the first time tonight and I can't believe how well it worked. I'm freaking obsessed!!! I have thick thick hair and hate taking the time to dry my hair. This dryer made it so easy and quick to get a perfect columbines blowout in half the time!!!
10/10 for sure
It was not good!

Bought it wanted to love it, I searched and compared brands this one was a customer favorite. It took longer to dry, gave me great shine(which faded through the day) no added volume, gold plated parted got way to got, when I first turned it on smelled chemically, and last my most hated part.....it ripped out my hair. Like the little bristles in between would grab on and pull my hair out.
loved this [product so much that i am going to buy 2 more

A Little Bit More But Worth It

After owning TWO of the Revlon Styler Dryers I decided on this one. The problem with the Revlon one is after a period of time(and not a long one at that) the bristled begin to 'fan out' and break off which both damage your hair and will not give you a nice smooth blowout. This one has boar bristles which I hope last longer. My hair is shoulder length, rather thick/wavy. I also recently decided to quit coloring my hair so there is a good bit of wild grey coming in. This dryer does a pretty good job of taming them. I use it on low with my hair about 60% dry. With care I can go about 4 days between shampoos.
Sorry but not so good

I have been looking for a dryer with attached brush, since I am totally all uncoordinated when it comes to using a dryer and brush in the other hand. I settled on this one due to the many good reviews. I'm actually sorry that I purchased this for a few reasons. My hair is medium thick with tendency to frizz, and is below my shoulders but not super long. This dryer brush is way too big and almost awkward to handle; If you have anything shorter than shoulder length hair, this will just not work for you. Also your arm/hand gets tired holding this big thing after a while. Secondly, yes it gets very hot, and seems to have good power, but still does not dry the hair quickly, and seems to take longer to dry my hair. (and this is after letting my hair air dry to the point where its more than half dry) Due to the brush being huge, you cannot get to the roots of your hair........in back, front or sides. So you end up with the root area of your hair still wet. Also, the control is very hard to operate. You have to use two hands to turn it on, and then to the setting you want. The control is a rotary type setting thing on the handle, that is just way to hard to operate. The whole thing should be easier and convenient and this is just not.
Better than the Revlon One-Step
Ali K from New York City Area
I️ purchased this product after my Revlon One-Step died after 4 months of use. I️ like the Revlon, and they replied the product, but after comparing the two the Hot Tools was better for me. I️ have think, wavy/curly frizzy hair and I️ have struggled to straighten it on my own with two hands. I️ am just not good at it, and the brush dryer has made it possible.
I️ like how the Hot Tools adds more resistance when you are pulling the hair through the brush. This really helped with the fizz. It's also faster. MUCH faster, and definitely less frizzy. I️ think it is worth the extra money if you are trying to decide between the two products.
Not for curly hair

I literally own every hair tool and I mean EVERY single one, for some reason I really didn't give this the time of day thinking the concept was "corny and cheap" I accidentally gave it a chance and OMG this is a game changer!!!!! I wish I had tried this before shelling out over $400 for my Dyson hair dryer. I hate blowing out my own hair but this makes it so fast and easy I am obsessed!!

I love this. I started with the Revlon One-Step two years ago but it's started running hot so I decided to try hot tools this time around. It definitely leaves my hair a little bit smoother than the Revlon. I love this.
Perfect for curly hair
Nadia from San Jose
I am in love, I have the standard blow dryer with the round brush but this beats all that. I'm so happy they made this. It's light weight and it gets hot enough to straighten my curly hair. This removes my flat iron because it actually holds the hair in while pulling and brushing.
Amazing styling tool

My hair looks like I went to the hair salon. This tool is easy to use. I have course hair that is past my shoulders and I was able to style my hair in less than 20 minutes. This is a great tool for styling your hair.

Cut down on actual blow dry time and hair looks smooth, and shiny. I LOVE this dryer and it is my new go to. During summer I typically dry my hair once or twice, I usually leave my hair wavy. With this dryer it's so easy I will be drying my hair more often.
Best Styling Tool By-far☺️
LdyL from Phoenix AZ
This styling tool is super easy to use and impressive even after the first use. I finally have the blow out look without frizz or the cost in paying to have it done!!☺️Thank you☺️Never fails with all other styling tools I've tried I end up with frizzies even when trying to blow out my hair. My hair is super thick and curly which makes it a big challenge every time. Great job on this creation🤘🏼
It's really good... really.
Caryn from St Louis MO
I have naturally straight hair but it's just poufy when I let it air dry and extremely poufy when I blow dry it. I do not have the coordination to use a dryer and a round brush at the same time and I don't like using a straightener much because of the damage the heat causes. This blowout brush is really the answer to all my problems! I've used it a few times now and it's super fast and easy to use. I even notice my hair being a little less poufy after washing it once and not using this dryer... I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick way to dry your hair and style it at the same time!
