Comments about dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse:

I received this product in last seasons FabFitFun box. I was excited but skeptical about it. Recently, I've been attempting to wash my hair less to improve my scalp health and to hopefully decrease the oil production. My hair typically gets so greasy so quickly. Towards the end of the day, it looks like 2nd day hair and by the next morning, it looks like 4th day hair. Dry shampoo helped, but my head was always itchy, I had tiny little pimples on my scalp, it was dull, lifeless and flat. I have extremely thin hair, but a LOT of it. My hair is half virgin, which is (obviously) the part that gets gross. I don't blowdry, flat iron, curl my hair (as I just don't have time). The first time I used this product, I hadn't washed my hair in 4 days. It was disgusting. It had days of dry shampoo buildup, and compact dandruff on my scalp. I could scratch my head, and it would be all under my nails. The vinegar was simple to use, I wet my hair, used the tip to separate while squeezing product onto my scalp. You don't need a lot. once I had it all over, I proceeded to massage it in. It really doesn't lather at all. Maybe a few bubbles, but if you are a lather junkie, you will be disappointed. Also, you can smell the vinegar, but it's not strong at all. You don't smell like a pickle, so don't worry. I left the product in for about 10 minutes (my husband needed something and it was already on my head, so I had to ditch the 1-3 minutes instructions) and as I was rinsing, i was able to finger comb through my hair (which before had a ton of large knots), it didn't feel oily, it wasn't slimy, and once I took the towel off and smelled my hair, it didn't smell like anything but clean hair. I let my hair airdry and was shocked at the results. Not only was it clean, but it had volume, shine, and it wasn't dull anymore. I mean, i just let apple cider vinegar sit in my hair for 10 minutes after not washing for 4 days. No more pimples, no more dandruff, I'm in love.

I got this in a fab fit fun box and I absolutely love it! Well worth the price tag. I use it every other time I wash my hair, in place of shampoo/conditioner. I have long, wavy, color treated hair and this makes my hair so soft. It's not supposed to lather as much as shampoo and the smell isn't bad at all. It's got a slight vinegar smell but that doesn't linger on the hair. Great product! Will purchase again.

My only complaint is the price. Got this in my fabfitfun box and I would buy it if it was $10 cheaper! $36 is a lot of money for a shampoo that won't last me more than a month.

That being said this stuff is AMAZING! If you find it doesn't lather enough then rinse and repeat and you'll get a light lather which is all you need. It took out just enough oil from my hair and left it feeling silly smooth. It also left behind the nice smell from the shampoo I used two days ago.

The smell isn't the best but oh my gosh!! My hair was so damaged from coloring it several times and breaking from the tight messy buns. After the first use I fell in love with this!! Hair feels amazingly soft, frizz free, and has a natural shine!!!

Comments about dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse:

I have long, thick, wavy, color-treated hair that is prone to frizz if I don't heat style. I also have seborrheic dermatitis, so I really have to watch what goes on my scalp while still ensuring that whatever goes on my hair conditions and detangles while leaving no heavy residue. I gave this product line a shot and bought the rinse, scalp scrub, and dry shampoo. I have not used the scrub yet, but used the rinse in place of shampoo and conditioner. I used it after 2 days without regular shampoo, so my hair was a little dirty and my scalp was starting to get oily. The rinse smelled, and I hate the smell of vinegar. But it was tolerable in the shower as long as I rinsed my face often to clear the smell from my nose. I followed the rinse directions, running it through parted hair along my scalp. I then rubbed it through, left it on for three minutes, and rinsed thoroughly. I let it air dry and was happy to find that the smell mostly dissipated, though I still got whiffs of it it as I moved about the house. It's cool weather right now, but I did wonder if I'd have to worry about the smell coming out with sweat during hot weather. Once my hair was dry, my scalp felt ok, no itch. However, the hair near the root was GREASY as all get out. The midsection of my hair felt super waxy with residue. And, the ends were dry and completely unruly - frizzy with no curl definition whatsoever. I tried to smooth it out with a round brush and dryer on low, but that did nothing to help. I then tried the ACV dry shampoo on the roots and it also did not help. The grease and reside was so bad that it looked like I hadn't washed my hair in over a week! I had now spent an extra 30 minutes trying to wrangle my hair and was late getting to an appointment. So I had to throw up in a clip and leave. Felt super gross all day. Had to rewash later with normal dandruff shampoo, lathering 2x followed up by a conditioning masque on the ends just to get it back to normal. Definitely don't recommend!!
