Most Helpful Positive Review The Ultimate eyeliner combo
I'd been eyeing this a while, but was hesitant to spring for a $25 eyeliner. You guys, I am seriously so stoked on this product. I love the liquid felt tip side for quick, thin cat eyes and also for bolder, Amy-esque looks. It is so easy to apply, it's basically fool proof. The crayon side is perfect for painlessly lining lower lids and filling in your upper lid at the water line. I applied this yesterday morning at 6AM before work and it lasted (I'm not exaggerating) my 10 hour work day AND a seven mile walk/jog AT THE BEACH, YA'LL. I sinned and didn't wash my face last night and had a sleepover with the man friend and this morning it honestly looked so pretty, I had to review. I did spritz Urban Decay's All Nighter before work, but still. Amazing. This is a great investment/staple for your bag. I love you, Tarte.
Most Helpful Critical Review Ridiculously bad.
Congratulations to those who have gotten positive results from this product, I envy you. This eyeliner is ridiculous. The liquid end bleeds everywhere, it's impossible to get a clean line. The pencil end is waxy & cheap, plus smudges everywhere. The only thing this product has going for it is that it's double ended. Too bad both ends are bad quality. I have been eyeing this pen for a long time & have had it for months, trying to make it work. I wanted to love this product but it is so bad it's hilarious. I can understand the pencil end, a lot of companies like to sell smudgey, waxy liners, but the liquid was such a disappointment. Even with the lightest hand it bled like it was watercolour. I would avoid buying this liner. I thought it would work with the thousands of such amazing reviews but man was I wrong.!

I am a YouTube or and I am in front of the camera every day. Make up is very important to me and getting the correct look. This eyeliner is not only easy to use but a very good product. It comes across very well on camera and having both a solid eyeliner and the liquid eyeliner covers every need that I could have!
Love this liner

Gotten this one before, but this time when I ordered the pencil side was not there,
Great felt tip liner, with reservations
Becca from Boston
About two years ago, i got the travel sized black liner in a set and left it in my car for times when I'm doing my eyeliner in a parking lot. That liner is still my all-time favorite liquid liner; the tip is firm but flexible and never frays, the liquid is black and opaque, thick enough to only go where you want it but not so thick that it's hard to use or flakes off throughout the day. I never need to go back over it to get full coverage, but if I need to go back in with the tip to fill in the space at my lashes or under my wing it doesn't get any weird texture. And it's stayed that way, in my car, outside, in New England, for two years. love it.
Weirdly, while the full sized one I got actually to use inside my house is still great, I find that it's a little bit less perfect. I don't know if it's the fact that it's always above freezing, the size of the pen in my hand, me caring more about evenness if I'm not rushing, or something about the amount of product itself, but I find it's just a tiny bit more liquid and the tip is a tiny bit softer. Still excellent, still the best for a super-opaque black line in one fell swoop, but I always find myself having to do more correction work with this than with the one that lives in my glove box.
The pencil is absolutely fine but also nothing special at all. I rarely use it; I'm not a pencil person. I just prefer the formula on the liquid to anything else I've tried.
Liquid MUST have
Sara W from Citrus Heights, CA
I do wings. I am all about the wings. I used to avoid liquid at all costs because I wasn't skillful and so I stuck with my brush and dip Maybelline gel in blackest black for *ahem* so many years. This came to me in an IPSY bag and oh my, I'm so glad it did. I thought, "let's give it a shot, what the heck" and LET ME TELL YOU... I was devastated when it ran out! Lol I love it because it's actually easy to use if you are used to doing wings, it's just effortless. All the reviews about the other end of the stick are extremely accurate if it says it breaks lol.. but it was worth it to have regardless because the liquid makes up for it. I wanted to replace this when it was all used up and I opted for SEX KITTEN, which is my new regular liquid. I loathe the shiny liners and I have to say that Sex Kitten is pretty much the same as the liquid in this Double Take device. Good luck and happy painting ladies! 🌺♥️
The black version in both takes is amazing!!!!

I love the black liquid and the pencil but the brown liquid is awful. It starts off really good but once you try to get to the center of your lid it's like not pigmented enough. I even tried layering the liquid and it just keeps getting worse and sloppy. The brown pencil however is pretty nice. It may be the one certain one I got, but no matter how hard I shake it it just doesn't do the outcome like the black one does. I can try another set, but I would recommend the black over brown. It's the best eyeliner I ever had, it never smudges like all other brands. It's perfect.

The liquid side is fine, the pencil is not.
Best eyeliner on the market!

I'm obsessed with this eyeliner! I don't use any other liner but this, goes on very smooth, last all day, doesn't smudge and just a very easy liner to apply.
the only eyeliner I'll ever use

worth the money. I mean it. the liquid eyeliner lasts so much longer than any I've ever tried, and the pen is the best I've ever used. I have this in both colors and it is a daily staple.
My favorite eyeliner

Love the multiple tips. I use the liquid side for my top liner and the crayon side for my bottom liner. The felt tip of the liquid liner is high quality. Nyx makes a similar product, but the tip of their liquid liner sheds. This is my go-to eyeliner.

I absolutely love this liner. I've tried many different ones but this one is it. It doesn't rub off as quickly as any other liner I tried.
Liquid side is incredible, pencil side sucks
Mads from Salt Lake City, UT
Ok, so I've been using a combo of the KVD tattoo liner and Nyx pencil liner for a few years (KVD for my winged liner, Nyx for the water line). My local Ulta was out of the KVD tattoo liner, so I decided to pick this up; being very stoked that it's a 2 in 1 product. The liquid side of this liner is *chef's kiss* AMAZING...and this is coming from someone with hooded eyes and oily lids. The application is so smooth and consistent, and the tip makes it incredibly easy to create a perfect wing. The formula lasts all day on my oily lids, and doesn't bleed into the corner of my eyes after a few hours like most other liquid liners do. However, the pencil side absolutely sucks. It's incredibly waxy and dry, and 9/10 times will not even begin to apply ANY pigment on to my water line. I've tried to warm the pencil side on my hand before applying, and I've tried the lighter trick as well...and it's still horrible. I'm giving this a 4/5 because the liquid side is honestly the best liquid liner I've used; but I wouldn't get my hopes up for the pencil side if I were you.

My favorite! Liquid liner on one side, crayon liner on the other side. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!!! A must have!
I love this product.
Tybee from Beachwood, Ohio
My eyes are deepset and these products tend to smear. This one doesn't smear, as long as I put it on before I apply my make-up base. The brush is the perfect size and seems to hold the perfect amount of liquid; I don't have to keep re-dipping. It's really the best of all I tried; I'm very pleased.
Eleanor from Lakeland, FL
This liner duo is fantastic. Perfect for a simple look with the stick side, and simple pen side to make a perfect wing. My only complaint is that the pen isn't very forgiving if you make a mistake! Make sure to use a continuous motion when applying the liner, as it's very easy to make a smudge of uneven line. 100% try it out, worth the money!

I received this product in my boxycharm a few months ago and it is AMAZING. Blackets eyeliner of all time and very easy to work with. I also love that it has regular eyeliner on the other end. This product also last a while!
PENCIL SIDE DRY
Evie from Chicago IL
The pencil side of this eyeliner is very dry and I can't even use it. Terrible use of that side but as for the eyeliner I liked it. Would I say there's better out there? Yes! don't waste your money.

It's my favorite eyeliner hands down!
Best liquid eyeliner I have tried
CS64 from Maryland
I have found liquid eyeliners (pencil style) to be best for my top eyeliner, and gel pencil better for the bottom. This fills both needs beautifully! I first tried the black, but being a woman of a certain age, I found it to be a bit dark. The brown is great. Both ends of the eyeliner pencil apply easily, and I have had no smudging or transfer of product. Would definitely purchase again!
Best liquid eyeliner there is!!!
Kait from IL
I've bought every liquid liner you could possibly think of, this product stays on all day, no fading, the pen itself lasts forever had for over 6 months and didn't dry out. As where some pens like this dry out very quickly in the matter of weeks. Recommend over and over again. It's easy to work with.
Sunshine from North Carolina
I love this eyeliner but I used it for two weeks and it was gone! For the amount of money it sure didn't last long! Disappointing for sure! Don't waste your money!

Great eyeliner- liquid and pencil in one tool
Vicky b from Massachusetts
My mom had gotten me a set of these for Christmas and I was amazed at the longevity of the pencil liner and how black and matte the liquid liner is. Also one of the easiest liquid liners to use.

Made my eyes itchy
ladymocha9 from Irvine, CA
I wanted to like this, but this eyeliner makes my eyes itch. I'm not sure what about it is causing this, but I had to stop using it. My eyes would itch into the next day; very annoying.
I have oily eyelids and I frequently noticed that after prolonged wear that my eyeliner would be smudged. It made my makeup look messy.
Every TARTE eyeliner breaks!!
Amie from Michigan
So irritated that every time I think, maybe this time it won't explode and leak in my purse, it won't break immediately... like where did the pencil side go??? It's ridiculous, it's not cheap. Returning.
